Kiss Me!

I made this card earlier but couldn't post it as we had a five hour power cut! How totally inconsiderate of the power company!! Anyhow, I based the idea of this card one of Frances cards - check out her blog, she has some neat stuff! The dog is from Ann-ticipations - is he cute or what?! I just looove him! (Don't know that I'd want to kiss him though...) The red heart with "kiss me" on is from a (now deleted) set from All Night Media.
The red card was cuttlebugged & I have used my circle Nestabilities for the red pink & white circles. LOVE those Nesties! Just got my square ones in todays mail!!
Well, it's New Years Eve tonight, for us here 'down under'! I hope all you bloggers out there have a safe & Happy New Year! See you all in 2008!
:-)

Chat Box

I have just added a chat box to my blog, so you can chat with me, or others, if I am online! I am not too sure how this works, but Jen says it is EASY, so lets have a go!!

Cut Outs

Not wanting to throw away my old Christmas or Birthday cards, (these are from last year) I decided to see what I could do with my Nestabilities! These are what I came up with! You could make them into cute mobiles or whatever for your kids, or for the local play center! I have also cut out some of the verses from the Christmas cards. I will make some into book marks as well. The possibilities are endless! I HATE throwing out my old cards & have "saved" them for years! I also found some old wrapping paper that has these gorgeous pictures of cats on, shaped like circles. I found a nestie that was the PERFECT size & have cut some out intending to make cards with them! The paper was given to me over 20 years ago!! I had fun with these & as I come up with more idea's I will post them here! Watch this space...I am back!!

Heart & Butterfly Card

I made this card using my heart Nestabilities, and the butterfly one. The butterfly wings stand out, but you can't see that on here. I used vellum paper for the top butterfly & pale blue card for the one underneath. The red heart is actually bright PINK!!
I have used some gold corner stickers & some gold lines for the border. Another quick card! :-)

Hey Sunshine!

I made this with my circle & butterfly Nestabilities. And I used my awesome Hanna Stamps (Hey Sunshine) I WON!! They arrived the day before Christmas, how cool was that!! Thank you to Cambria & to Kristi from Hanna Stamps! There are 28 words/sayings in the set & they are all awesome! I have had fun with them! I used Bazzill card for this card as I really like it. Because I scanned this, the butterfly wings are sitting flat. The pink wings stand out, if you know what I mean?! The lilac butterfly underneath is flat but the pink one on top isn't.

Valentines Day Hanger

Ok, so I haven't posted anything for awhile, but I AM still here! I made this for Valentines Day to hang in my front window! Yes, it IS early!
I used my heart Nestabilities in various sizes & hung a small heart shaped bead at the very bottom. I punched small holes in the top & bottom of each heart & threaded fishing line through the backs of the hearts. This really didn't take too much time to make & was alot of fun! I used some SU stamps (Animal Valentine) probably now deleted, on the white hearts & the words, "Be My Valentine" on the middle heart.
Nestabilites are sets of various shaped dies (scallop & plain) that cut out the shapes, heart, circle, square, just to name a few. I use my Cuttlebug machine with the Nestabilities, but I understand there are other machines such as Wizard, that you can also use. "Christine", I apologise for not replying directly to you but I couldn't find your email address! (Thank you for your comment!) So I hope this answers your question! For ayone who is interested in the Nestabilities, go to http://www.ellenhutson.com/ & search for Spellbinder Nestabilities. I also have some gorgeous butterfly nesties, as well as the other shapes mentioned. I LOVE them!! :-)
They are also available from several Australian companies, such as Fireside Crafts, BizzyBecs & others.

Merry CHristmas Garland

I used my nestabilities to make this. I cut the words using my cricut. The Rudolph at the bottom was also made with my nestabilities. The hardest part?? Making sure I had the letters threaded in the right order so it was spelt right!! I have this hanging in one of my front windows so everyone can see it as they walk by! The layers are red (at the back) green & red again with the words cut out in white. I also used my SU round tab punch to make tabs to thread the green cord through. I attached these to the back of each circle. I had fun making this!

Mermaid Notebook

I covered a hardcover notebook with this gorgeous aqua & blue hand made paper - it has sparkly silver waves through it! The mermaid stamp is from Inkadinkado. The aqua watercolour paper shape behind the mermaid was an "accident"! It was a piece of scrap paper which I had used when I was sponging a card. I spilled some water on it (accidentally!) & got this fabulous result! So I carefully cut around it & layered it underneath the mermaid! I coloured her & then covered her with Jac paper & cut around her. I then sprinkled very fine crystal glitter over the top of her. She truly "sparkles"! I love this stamp & must stamp her more!

Baby Dress

I have to confess, I love making these cards! I don't make alot of baby cards but I really enjoy making these ones! It is a design I got from SU a long time ago, via a friend of mine who is a demonstrator for them. It is SO easy to make! After tracing the design I cut the card on the FOLD. The top of the card is cut on the fold, so it opens up from the bottom. You can decorate these any way you like, & you could make them for any occasion, not just for baby!
I used my scallop scissors to cut the bottom of the dress. Simple! :-)

Love My Cat!

I made this using the left over piece I had after I punched out the round tab punch. (The pink piece of card) So basically I have used the bit you normally throw away, & inserted a piece of white card which I first stamped the cat (SU) on. You need to measure it to get it to slide in. I then taped the white card to the pink card so it didn't slip. Then I found a scrap of green Bazzill card & glued the pink card to this. I used the pink tab I had punched & glued it to the side of the cat & wrote the word "Meow" in it. ("Meow" is "Cat-o-nese" for "Have a great day," or, "I love you", or...) I stuck double sided sponge tape to the back of the cat piece & layered it onto the white card, after I had glued a piece of pink heart paper to the bottom half of the white card. I also glued a strip of pink daisies across the card. In pale pink I stamped the words, "love Me Love My Cat".

A Cat's Christmas!

Here is another Christmas card/ornament I made using my new Nestabilities! I glued a large paper clip to the back of the card & then 'sandwiched' it in between another piece to cover up the clip. The cat's are a stamp from Stamps Happen. They have Kindy Glitz on their bows & on the holly leaves! Cute cats for Christmas!

Christmas Tree Ornament

I made this to hang on my Xmas tree! I used my Nestabilities (4 inch) to cut the biggest scallop & gradually went down in size. It was very quick to make, the reindeer is a Christmas tag I bought from a local stationers. His nose has tiny red beads inside - similar to a shaker card! I glued a large paper clip to the back so I can hang the ornament. I am having FUN with my Nestabilities!!

Britomart

This is a photograph I took, of the amazing glass ceiling inside Britomart, the underground train station in Auckland City. It is enormous & I am about 4 storeys below, looking directly up at the ceiling. (Talk about bending over backwards - I was!!) I truly LOVE this ceiling & want one in my dining room!! It is absolutely huge & I think it is just so awesome. I always feel very little & very humble when I look up at it! I don't know why!
I have used my Nestabilities to 1st cut out the photo & 2nd to add the scallop border.

Nestabilities!

Ok so the BIG day arrived... my Nestabilities ARRIVED today & am I HAPPY or what?!!! So here's what I have done with them so far...

The hearts are just simple cards cut in two different sizes so they 'nest'. The butterflies are also nesties! How cute is that?!! The label thing could be used as a luggage label or a name label if you turn it on it's side & put the tab in the center. I have been 'waiting' for these to come & finally...here they are!! All of these were quick to make!

Paper Star Tutorial

Follow these simple steps to make this quick & easy paper star! Scroll down to see further instructions.
Cut a 6 x 6 inch square of paper - I used scrap book paper as it was nice & firm.

With your scor pal, score 5 lines at 1 inch.

Fan fold the paper & put a staple in the centre, @ 3 inches.

Use your scissors to cut from the end to the centre. Cut with the open edge (see photo) facing to the right. If you cut the other way, the star will not form.

Repeat on the other end of the fan fold.

This is the UNDERNEATH of the star. Following the photo as a guide, fold down each point of the star.

This is the TOPSIDE of the star. Keep folding the points until you get a full star.

Here is the finished star! To get the right star shape you may have to flatten some of the points. Play around with it until you get the right star shape!
Thanks to Dawn for this great idea!

Index cards

These are some little (4x4 inch) index cards I made today. I cut the card to size using my Dream Kuts & made the tags using my round tag punch from SU. I also cut out some white cards to fit in behind the index cards so I can write various things on them. I intend to decorate these coloured cards, just haven't quite got there yet! I have used Bazzill card for the index cards.

Balloons!

Here's another quick card! I used a piece of Old Olive card for the actual card & a piece of Pumpkin Pie card for the wavy piece, which I cut with my Creating Memories cutter. I stamped the flower & line using a Perfectly Clear stamp set from Stampendous. I punched out three balloons with my punch. I cut (using my Dream Kuts) 3 very thin strips of red & blue card & curled them around a pencil & then glued them to the balloons & the card. I got the idea for the balloon strings from the latest SU catalogue!

Christmas Bauble!

This was a very quick card to make, so quick I felt like I was 'cheating'! The only stamping was the words inside that say, "Very Merry Christmoose'! Here's how I made it. First I cut out a circle shape (4 inches) on my Cricut, using the mirror feature. I run it through the D'vine Swirls embossing folder (I did one side of the circle at a time) & punched out a gold tab using my NEW Round Tab punch from SU!! (I've only had it 24 hours & am having FUN with it) The tab is glued to the fold of the red card.
I stuck a reindeer Xmas tag I bought from a stationary shop on the front. He has a plastic bubble for his nose which is filled with tiny red beads! So if you shake him, the beads move all around! I punched a small hole in the ta & threaded some string through it to hang it with.
One card done in a few minutes or less!

Halloween Thing!

This Halloween thing" was made (by me!) by cutting a piece of firm card & literally wrapping it in a bandage! I added wobbly eye's and a safety pin! And a little tag that says "Boo!"
Layered onto black card, then red card, both with the corners of the cards punched using one of my fancy corner punches. Finally layered onto a piece of dark silvery grey card.
Quick & easy & a great way to use up those odd safety pins we find in "odd" places!

Christmas Tree

I made this last year at a class I went to. Basically it is two pre-cut (you buy them in a pack of 6?) Xmas tree's. I stamped on the tree's using a back ground stamp (Stamp World Christmas Background H 741) first. Then stuck one to the green card. The other one I folded in half & glued just the centre to the first tree. Does that make sense? I used gold stickers for the corners of the green card & lines for the edge of the card. These were alot of fun to make! I love the green background paper, it is quite thick & has a 'bubbly' feel to it! I added a gold star brad to the top of the tree.

Butterflies for Christmas!

Ahhh, I love this card! I made it last year
for a friend of mine. I didn't get the stamp until just before Christmas, so I didn't have alot of time to 'play' with it & experiment. The butterflies are stamped on clear plastic. I curled he wings so they 'stood out' a bit. The stamp is from Rubbadubbadoo. The flower was stamped twice & cut out & layered using double sided sponge tape. I think I would like a card like this!! (Guess I could make myself one!)

Moonlit Night

This is a Stampscapes post card I did. I like the colours, bordering on a a violent storm maybe?!
I did this on white glossy card & just sponged the colours to get the effect I wanted. I enjoy Stampscapes stamps as they allow you to create 'emotions'. I don't use these stamps enough! Maybe after Christmas when things get a bit quiet! (Does that ever happen?!)

Quick & Easy Cards!

Ok, first of all, I apologise for these photo's & text being all over the place! :-( I don't know how to edit them so they are all nice & even...anyone who can help please let me know! Thanks!
These are the 40 cards I have made for my favourite bus driver! She asked me three days ago if I could make them for her...this is what I did! I used different cuttlebug embossing folders to do them. Snowflake, Sledding & Textile Texture I think. Wish they had one with Merry Christmas written all over it! What you can't see is they have a bit of sparkly Kindy Glitz on them. Ok, so THAT'S what I've been up to for the last few days!
I am waiting patiently (ok, so maybe not so patiently sometimes!!) for my Nesties to arrive...the postman gets harassed by me every day lately! Keep the bills, just bring me my nestabilities, PLEASE!!

Hapiness Is...

...Just gotta tell ya...my Nestabilities are ON THEIR WAY to me as I type this!! I am soooooooo happy!!! :-) Thank you Pauline!! I will be 'dreaming' about Nestabilities tonight...
That's all I have to say for today! I am busy making 50 Xmas cards for my fave bus driver, Judie. She asked me if I would make them for her to give to her passengers. She's such a nice lady I said "yes"!
Got to go, sorry there's nothing to "see"! Watch this space...

The Day Care Kids!

This is "Alfie" (Sealpoint Birman) & "Lily" (Lilac point Birman).
They live next door to me, but come to me every day, during the day! I love them as if they were my own! "Miss Lily" is full of mischief & when she is inside with me, she never leaves my side. If I go to the kitchen...she goes to the kitchen! She is like my little shadow! They are both almost 2 years old in a few months time. Their mum & dad (the real ones!) call me "Day Care Mum" because I look after them during the day while they are at work! Cute huh! As I said, I just adore these two! I made this for a present for their real mum as it is her birthday in 2 days time! I don't see as much of Alfie as I do of Lily. Alfie does his own thing, but he does like to come & sleep away the day in my bed sometimes! Lily likes to "help" me make cards etc & would be over the moon if I would let her type! Alas & alack, she cannot spell!! But she is allowed to get up on my office chair & sit behind me! If I tap my shoulder she will stretch up & kiss my neck or my ear for me! I taught her to do this!
They go home at night & more often than not, I have to pass Lily over the fence as she does not want to go home! They certainly keep me entertained with their high jinx!
I got the idea for this photo frame from the Summer 2007 - 2008 Mini Catalogue from Stampin' Up. YES! I have found me an SU demonstrator & she only lives a few minutes from here! Woohoo! I have just ordered a round tab punch & some stamps from her today!

My Christmas Tree!

Ok, I haven't actually stamped anything today - busy day with friends dropping by. But! Those little candy purses I made the other day are now happily hanging on my Christmas tree, so I thought I would share these photo's with you! Don't they look cute! And when I get hungry..I can EAT them!! How cool is that!
