Earrings

On a recent trip to the local Op Shop - they know me well -I found a pack of twelve gingerbread ornaments for $2.  They were brand new so I bought them.  I put most of them on my umbrella decoration (see posts below) and these two I made into earrings! I've had many compliments on them and lot's of people want to know where I got them from.  Fun to make and wear!
Okay, that's me for today, it's getting late and I am getting sleepy.

Ponies

These are some felt ponies I made many years ago.  I decided to dust them off & hang them from a small umbrella, in my dining room.  They go round when the wind blows and look really cute!

Book Marks

These are some of the book marks I made recently.  They are great sellers at Christmas!

New Snow Lady Card

Here is another snow lady card, with a hula skirt on that I made!  Seeing as Christmas is in Summer over here I thought her attire was appropriate!  And she has her umbrella to help keep her cool!  Thanks for visiting; {{HUGS}} from me to YOU:-)

Decorations

Here's a close up of a few of the things on the umbrella decoration below.
Yeah you're right, I should have posted this before the other post!

Here's What I Made With A Broken Umbrella!

I made this Christmas "Chandelier" using an old umbrella!  I took the material part off and added lot's of Christmas decorations.  It was a challenge because I had to hang it up to be able to put the decorations on.  My ceilings are 10 foot high and I am NOT!  So there I was up on a ladder (and I hate heights!) hanging bits on the umbrella.  It took a few days to get it right.  It looks 100 times better IRL - don't you hate that?!  It looks amazing from directly underneath it, but to do this you need to be lying on the floor!
My two cats love this decoration as it gently turns and jingles in the breeze!
Thanks for visiting; I haven't posted as often as I want to because I am still having problems posting things:-(

Cats And A Snow Lady!

These cats are all dies, as is the sleigh.  My love of cats was the inspiration for making these Christmas cards!
The snow lady below is CASED from Dawns blog. (DOstamping)
I cut out the bottom of her in green card & then cut into it to make it look like a grass skirt.  I have used the hat from this stamp set (SU Snow Day) for her bikini top (minus the pom poms!). Christmas falls in the summer here in NZ so this snow lady is definitely dressed appropriately!  "Bring on summer," is what she is saying!
I added some punched out flowers in black and white for the top if her skirt and also on her head.
She was fun to make!  Thanks for visiting, {{HUGS}} from me to YOU:-)

Cats For Christmas!

"Hey, wait for me!" the white cat is saying as Santa's sleigh is taken over by a black cat!
These are made with Poppy Stamps dies.  Being a cat lover I had heaps of fun making these!

Snow Ladies Hula On My Blog!

I got the idea for these sno ladies from Dawns blog - DOstamping.  I thin someone had sent Dawn a card like this and she posted it on her blog.  I apologize for not having your name here, but I give you the credit for making up this awesome idea!  I love it!
Each snow lady is slightly different - are they having fun or what?!
Here in New Zealand Christmas is in Summer, so having a grass skirt on a snow lady is appropriate!  Thanks for visiting - {{HUGS}} from me to YOU:-)

Snow Lady and Cat Card

The cat and sleigh are both Poppy Stamps dies.  The card looks better IRL!
This is another one of my Snow Lady cards.

Problems Publishing Photo's

You may have noticed that I am not posting much lately.
This is not because I am not making any cards etc, but because I am having big problems getting things to publish.
I wrote about this in an earlier post.
I used to be able to publish several photo's at a time, now I am lucky if I can publish 3 at a time.  Even 2 causes problems.
I have no idea what is going on, I am doing nothing different to what I usually do when I want to publish something.
I hope you guys don't give up on my blog!  Things are just taking a whole lot longer to do these days!
What used to take me 10 minutes now takes me 45 or more, and even then it doesn't always work.  Even this took several attempts to get it to publish.
Several times when I tried to publish some of the photo's in the posts below, nothing showed up on my blog.
So that's why I am not posting as often as I used to.  Bummer!
Thanks for reading this!  (Oh yeah, and if you have a spare magic wand to fix this problem with...please send it to me!)

I Once Had A Driveway...

...until the local council came and dug it up!  But the end results are great!  They were here outside my place for about 3 1/2 weeks widening the public footpath.  They re-did my driveway and took a large chunk of the grass verge to widen the footpath.  Supposedly to slow the traffic down?  How that works I don't know!
They have also put in pedestrian islands as well as speed cushions up and down the road to slow the traffic.  Hope it works because I have seen one too many serious crashes on this road, and all of them very close to my house!
Thanks for dropping by, {{HUGS}} to you from ME:-)

Hmmm, Bit Of A Mess!

The local council have widened the public footpath to twice the width it was.  A lot of mud!  A lot of noise!  But the finished results are great!
The photo below is how wide the footpath used to be and the photo above shows how wide it will be.
Thanks fro dropping by - {{HUGS}} from me to YOU:-)

Just About Finished!

I told the council workers I was going to "draw" in the wet concrete - "Go ahead ma'am" I was told, "It's your driveway!"
So I did!  So much fun & it even felt slightly 'naughty'!
Oops, these have loaded up in the wrong order...ok "Blogger", what's going on?!
Thanks for visiting, {{HUGS}} from me to YOU:-)

All Finished

This is the finished driveway and footpath -plus my "artwork" in the wet concrete!  I wanted to decorate the entire drive way but had an urgent doctors appointment which took much longer than expected.
By the time I got home the concrete was well set so any other "artwork" was not possible.
There's a really funny story attached to this.  Many years ago when my dad was still alive and I was only young, the council dug a drain across the top of our driveway.  I think they were laying cables down or something.  Anyhow when they filled the drain in they left a kind of  'lump' across the top of our driveway.
Whenever you drove your car in or out of the driveway it scraped underneath.  Dad called the council and told them and asked if he could fix it.  "No no!" said the council, "that is council land and we will come and fix it!"
Dad waited, we all waited.  No-one came to fix it.  My dad eventually passed away and still the 'lump'  remained.
My mom complained about the mold growing on the driveway - that never got removed either.  My mom passed away.
I didn't care about the lump on the driveway - I don't drive!
Well over 35  years later the council have FINALLY (unbeknown to them) fixed both the lump and the mold!!
I cracked up when I knew what they were doing and hoped my mom and dad were looking down on the council and praising their good work!  It might be over 35 years late but they did it!!  Well done boys!
Thanks for visiting - have a great weekend!

Whodunnit??!

When I got up the other day and walked into the laundry, this is what I found.
Now, I know I didn't do it, so that leaves 'the other two'.  I always tell Bella & Romeo to keep their litter tray clean.  But I didn't mean clean it with my towels!
"Someone" had used the litter tray (it wasn't me)  in the night and then somehow dragged a towel from the laundry basket into the litter tray!!  Luckily the towel was not a clean one!
Well done who ever did it!  Now if I can just train them to actually do the laundry...
Thanks for dropping by, enjoy your day:-)

Fun With Romeo!

Here's what we get up to when things get boring...I "train" Romeo to jump hurdles!!  Well, actually it's a rubbish sack! Honestlyy, he loves it!  I prop it up between the dining room & lounge room and  'encourage him to jump over the sack!
He has great 'technique' and will willingly jump when I ask him to!
He gets rewarded with a few cat biscuits which are his fave!
The other thing he loves to do is to have me blow bubbles with a bubble wand and then he jumps up and 'pops' them with his paws!  Bit hard to capture that on camera when I am the one blowing the bubbles and taking the photo's!  He is not happy when the bubble's land on him and pops as he gets a bit wet!

Skate Card

I really haven't done a lot of card making lately but I did make this the other day.  I thought of making a few to take to the rink with me & possibly sell some to the girls there.  I've had the ice skate stamp for awhile & have also used it to make roller skate cards.  I just chop of the blades and add a couple of big buttons for wheels!
I added some half pearls and a ribbon bow and also used some Dimensional Magic on the blades.  You can't really see it in this photo but it is there!  To round the corners of the card I used my Envelope Punch Board Maker as I find the corner rounder on that much better than my actual corner rounder punch!  The EPBM seems to be a much stronger punch.  Try it and let me know what y
 you think!
That's all for now, thanks for dropping by!

More Op Shop Buys

The pink doily's and the roll of paper below both cost ten cents. There are 20 doily's.  The paper is a sort of ice blue colour and is iridescent and has feint lines running through it.

I Just Made This!

These are photo's of a Vegetable Tart I made about an hour ago.  I went to an Op Shop yesterday and bought 6 recipe books for $1.
This was one of the recipes in one of the books.  I liked the sound of the recipe so decided to make it today.  It tastes YUMMY and I will definitely be making it again sometime!
It has a base of puff pastry with roast vegetables on top.
I know what's for dinner tonight!

I Passed!

Yippee! I passed my two NZISA tests at the Ice Rink yesterday!  We had to show we were proficient  ten various skills on the ice to pass.
My next class starts next week and goes for four weeks.
I stopped going to the roller skating rink about 8 weeks ago as it was way too far to travel and I was gone the entire day all for a 45 minute lesson on the rink.
The rink used to be an outdoor rink so is built on a slight slope.  I got to the point where I wasn't enjoying it and believe it or not, it was colder there than on the ice rink!
I am enjoying it on the ice far more than I did on the roller skating rink and am doing much better.
I  went roller skating for about 8 weeks and in that entire time only one person in the class actually spoke to me.  I found it a bit weird.
The ice rink is different.  Everyone speaks to everyone!  We laugh a lot & have a great time.  It feels more friendly.
Okay, I just had to share this bit of happy news with you!
Thanks for dropping in & I hope your week is going well!

Cat's n' Cards

Above is "Bella" asleep in her bed.  She had her chin resting on the side & looked so comfy!
This is "Ro-Ro" standing on his tail!  He does this all the time!  Maybe he's keeping his feet warm?  Does this mean I have to knit him some woolly slippers?!
This is an update on the two wedding cards I made. (see earlier posts)  I stamped the wedding words on some card & used my SU tab punch to punch it out.
I made the horse shoes using my Nestability dies.  So easy!
Thanks fro visiting, enjoy your day!

How To Relax

This is how you relax...if you're a cat!  He was catching the sun one day and kept having to move slightly as the sun moved.
He had just had a big game with the blue mouse which is by his left paw.
I posted this as an experiment to  see if it would publish.  It did, so I am REALLY hoping things are working again.
Thanks for visiting, enjoy your weekend!  {{HUGS}} from me to YOU:-)

Cards, Maybe?

There is definitely something weird going on with my computer.  I loaded up FOUR card images and only three are showing up.  I am totally baffled as to what is going on, all I now is it is driving me insane. (Read posts below to see what has been happening)

Anyway these are some of the Telescope cards I have been making lately.  With all the problems I have had with my computer it seems like ages ago I made the cards.  In reality it was only a week ago!
The 'open' photo of this card has been gobbled up by the gremlin that is hiding in my computer, if I can find the card I will publish it here.
Thanks so much for visiting, {{HUGS}} from me to YOU:-)
Please excuse me now, I have to go and scream and tear my hair out.... and dare I say it, have another go at fixing this computer problem.  I will be back!

It's not working, again...

Aaaarrrggghh!!  I am STILL having problems uploading my photo's to my blog and it is driving me crazy.  I have spent hours trying to fix the problem.  If only I knew what he problem was!  I thought it was my pop-up blocker behaving badly so I checked that but I am still having problems.
I even got a friend to upload photos to my blog from his computer and it worked, but when I try it, it doesn't work!
Having said that, I did manage to load some photo's this morning, but when I go back to load more...NOTHING happens!!
I honestly don't know what else to do.   Talk about testing my blood pressure; I know just what you mean "Lorraine"!!
Oh well, back to TRYING AGAIN!
Thanks fro dropping in, even though there are no photo's on this post!
{{HUGS}} from me to YOU:-)
P.S. "Dear God, please send me the 'computer fix-it Fairy' urgently..."

New Cards

Thank you again, Lorraine!  My pop up blocker was blocking these photo's being uploaded. Now that it is sorted everything should be working okay! These are some of the Telescope cards I made.  This one is black & white.
Thanks for dropping by, {{hugs}} from me to YOU:-)

Trying Again!

Did you hear me expel a deep sigh just then?!  I have been trying ALL day to publish these photo's without any success.  I finally went back and re-named the photo's on my blog folder where the photo's are and they PUBLISHED!!
These are some more of the Telescope cards I had made over the weekend.

Many thanks to LORRAINE (you know who you are!) for sending me the web site to go to to see how to fix problems with blogging.  I didn't end up going there but I have saved the info in case anything else happens that I can't fix.  Okay, I am now going to (hopefully) publish the rest of my photo's!
Thank you for visiting, {{HUS}} to YOU from ME:-)

I Need Some Urgent Help, Please!

Can anyone help me please?  I am having big problems posting photo's on my blog.  Since last weekend I cannot post photo's but I can write stuff.
When I choose the photo's then go to where it say's "Add Selected Photo's", nothing happens.  Usually I can see the photo's loading and then when the photo's all appear I can add writing and then publish them.
This is not happening at the moment, although I did (somehow) manage to add a few of the Telescope cards this morning.  Now nothing is happening.
I have no idea what to do, I created my blog on my own and need some help with this!  I have done nothing different to what I usually do when I post photo's on my blog.  The photo's had all been reduced in size, as I normally do.
If you can help in any way, PLEASE email me westiegirl@kol.co.nz
If I can't fix this problem then I can longer keep my blog going and this will put me into serious therapy!!
I will be extremely grateful for any help you can offer me!
THANK YOU!!  {{HUGS}} from me to YOU:-)

Telescope Cards # 2

Telescope Cards

These are some "Telescope" cards I made.  The top card is what it looks like closed and the one below is what it looks like open.  I found the idea on Julie Davison's blog - www.juliedavison.com and printed out the instructions.
I used Spellbinder Nestabilities as I don't have the SU dies/punches.
The Nesties work exactly the same.
I made this one a Christmas card.  So much FUN to make!  After making the first one I found myself sitting here openin and closing it, it was so much fun!

I stamp the cream coloured card before making the card up with the brads in place.

You can make the cards for any occasion and embellish it as you like.
