"Noof's Night Out!

"Noof" is all Punk'd up for her night out on the town! The hat and the numbers all have sponge tape under them to give them some height, and it gives the card a bit of texture. This was another fun card to make, using a couple of my new stamps, and one of the new stencils. The card has a black backing, but is hard to see in this photograph. The pink band on the hat and flower were both coloured using one of the LS Lustre Polishes, called "Bubblegum". The hat was coloured using an Elements Blue Atoll ink pad.  I used a water colour paint brush and just painted the hat with it.  The rim on the goggles were coloured with a gold gel pen. Looking at the card now, I think next time I might paint the cogs with some gold ink so they  are bit more prominent, and don't blend in with the hat so much.  I used a stencil brush to lightly brush on some Della Blue Elements ink on the lower chest area on "Noof". I used one of the new LS stencils in the left and right hand diagonal corners of the card. I think I used an Elements ink pad called Emperor Red. I still don't have a lot of energy, and am not able to speak with my doctor until Wednesday. So I'm in cruise mode until I can talk with him.

New Steampunk Stamps Arrive!

So my Lavinia Stamps and things finally arrived last Thursday!  Unfortunately I have some health issues right now, and have only just had the energy or inspiration to play with them. I am still not 100% well, and have little energy, and am literally taking it one hour at a time with my health. I am hoping like mad  that I don't end up in hospital.  My health issues are tricky, and can change for the worst within minutes.  Challenging.
Anyhow, below is my first card I made using the new Steampunk stamps, stencils and polishes.  The stamp of the lady is called "Zia", but I call her, "Sunshine"!  She is me at the tender age of 19!  I dressed almost identical to her at that age! So much fun! Yu can see the stamp of her face in the photo above.  I have also used some of the new stencils, and one of my new polishes.  All from L.S, except for the three real cogs.
Here's a couple of close ups so you can see the details better. I hand stitched the gold thread oh her hat.
The hat has sponge tape under it to give it some height and depth.  The wool I used for her hair is also from L.S.
Hope you enjoy my first Steampunk card! When LS announced a new range of stamps called Fantasy and Steampunk earlier this month, I really didn't think I would be interested in the stamps.  Until I saw what the DT had made with them! Then it was an instant "WOW", and I was hooked! At the moment I just wish I was well and had more energy to create. Send me an email if you want to know any details of which stamp/stencil etc I have used! Right now I'm just taking things easy, and doing my best to keep out of hospital.  I am hoping I can get to speak to my Doctor some time tomorrow to get things sorted. I have to say, he's brilliant...but not available on the darn weekend!

Just For Fun!

The card above has "Mimsy" on, one of my Lavinia stamps.  Getting a tad bored waiting for my LS orders to arrive, I doodled around and made "Mimsy" as skate board, just for fun!  I used a small ice block stick, and two of  my wooden cogs for wheels! I also stamped and cut out two of LS bird stamps,  and cut them both out by hand.  The second bird I just used half of his body as a wing for the other bird.  I glued that 'wing' to the under side of the first bird to make it look like he has his wings out, as "Mimsy" whizzes down the hill on her skate board! This card was made purely for fun, as I said, I am waiting for my latest LS orders to arrive. I know they are in New Zealand, but they have yet to be scanned through customs, and the waiting seems to just go on and on.
For the card above, I used a recent sale-a-bration stamp set from SU. It's called "Thanks A Bunch" and features different sayings and some carrots! It's a fun set, an this is the first card I have made with this set.

Beautiful Cats, Photography by Sunshine!

This gorjuss girl, above and below, is "Wookie".  Such beautiful markings on her!

This handsome boy in the photo above and the ones below is, the gorgeous "Teddy"!  Oh those blue eyes...!
It was a challenge to get him to look at the camera.  He would rather have checked out some birds in a nearby tree, or watch "Wookie" who was having a wash! Patience finally won out, and I got these photo's, plus a whole bunch more I took. Such beautiful cats, and such posers! The photos look amazing full screen,

A Quick and Easy Card To Make!

I used some Lavinia Stamps pan pastels to colour the background. They are so smooth and creamy, and blend really nicely.  I love them! They are dry immediately and can be stamped on right away. Once I had finished the stamping I layered it onto a piece of black card. I love the simplicity of. I was hesitant to stamp the star on to it, but decided to go ahead. I'm glad I did because I think it just finishes it off.  Not much today, I have been so busy doing a lot of photography lately, and  I am so tired by the end of the day and just don't have the  energy to stamp! How sad are those words...'don't have the energy to stamp'?! I actually made this card at 7 am this morning, this is the best time of day for me, and I often do some crafting at this time of day!  I have two orders (yes, you read right, two!) of LS stamps etc on their way!  Lavinia released a new range of stamps and stencils on the 2nd of March and I went a bit wild with ordering things!  I absolutely love their new range of stamps!  I have been looking at all the videos etc of what the designers and others have made using the new stamps. If you are on Face Book, there are tons of things everyone has made.  Reach Out With Lavinia, is on FB site, Lavinia For You, is another, as well as Lavinia Stamps.  So if you are o Facebook, check those pages out, you will see tons of samples made with the new images, as well as some of the other stamps.  I am literally counting down the seconds until my orders arrive! It will no doubt take about 3 weeks until they land on my art desk! I am not the most patient person, but I'm  trying! So watch this space!
