"Merlin The Magnificent!"

I found this gorjuss bloke in my local Hospice Shop this morning and just had to bring him home with me!  He stands about 2 1/2 feet tall and is made of wood.  He was irresistible and I just had to have him!  He didn't fit in my shopping bag, so I had to carry him...all the way around the supermarket while I did some grocery shopping!  Then I carried him up the road to the Vet to get some cat food!  I did get some funny looks along the way!  Anyway, I have named him "Merlin the Magnificent"! I think he's got "character"!
Ok, that's it for now, thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

A Flower and A "Catty" Card For A Friend!

The Dahlia flower above is from a new bulb I bought a couple of  months ago.  This photo is not showing the true colour.  The real color is a much deeper shade, bordering on a more burgundy shade.  The plant is literally smothered in flower buds.  I just loved the colour when I saw it in the plant shop and had to have it!
The card above is one I made for a special friend, we are both cat lovers!  I cut the cat from some black felt that has some sparkly silver thread through it.   I'm not sure if the greenery above his head is Mistletoe or Catnip?!  He was fun to make and I am happy how the card turned out!  I know my friend will also like it!

A Mat, A Prayer and A Flower!

Just a quick post this morning.  Do you get sore tired feet from standing while crafting??  I do!  So I bought a cheap memory foam bath mat from The Warehouse (NZ) to stand on while I am crafting. (Photo above) It cost $8.95 and was worth every cent.  The mat measures 18 inches (45 1/2 cms) in width, is 30 inches (76cm) in length and is an inch thick. I am one of those who  stands 99 percent of the time while crafting.  I don't sit down very often when I am making cards or whatever.  My feet just love this mat! It is about an inch thick and feels so soft under my feet! It saves my feet/knees from getting
sore and makes it so much more comfortable for me.
But wait...it has another use!  If you suffer from sore hips, or have arthritis in your tailbone like I do, you can slip this mat under your bottom sheet on your bed and it sill give yo some extra comfort while sleeping or resting.  Going to the beach for a picnic??  Take this with you to sit on!  You can fold it in half if you like and sit on it!  Take it with you in the car - great for long journeys and keeps you comfortable!  The mat has multiple uses, and I just love mine!
The Stampers Prayer is something I wrote many years ago and had it made into a rubber stamp!
Below is a photo of mu Dahlia that is flowering.  It's one of the Pom Pom type and is a stunning pink colour.  It's definitely the brightest flower in the garden!  So pretty!
Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Cards for Hospice Plus!

 Happy Sunday everyone!
These four photo's are some very quick and easy cards I made to donate to my local Hospice Shop.  I used some really cheap card I got from the Blind Foundation.  Because I am a member I can buy the card for $2 (free postage!) for 100 sheets.  It is perfect for making cards with, and it takes the ink really well, no bleeding or anything!  So far I have made 21 of these cards, but  I will make more before I take the cards to them next week.

I used a star punch i have had for years, and punched the stars from some mirror card, in different colours.  Very quick and very easy!
I made the card below using a photo I had taken of Santa, a couple of years ago.  I had the photo printed out and  used some nice red card for the base.  I will stamp a greeting on the inside of the card.  This too was a quick and easy card!
The card below is more shiny than you can see on here.  The colour I stamped in is SU Night of Navy.  I added three sparkly gems and a silver butterfly that I die cut.
Below is a set of wooden drawers I got form my local Hospice Shop.  It was crammed full of things like paint brushes, chalk, stencils, some Bergamot Essential Oil, and other bits and pieces. It's quite solid and is fairly heavy.  It will be great to hold some craft things in!
Thanks for dropping by, hope you have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

New Card!

I saw a card like this somewhere on the internet earlier today.  I liked it so much that I made this one!
I used Stampin' Up! Set"I Like You."
The most challenging part was cutting the white circle and making sure I cut the gaps the right size so it fit ok into the brown circle.  I water coloured the flowers and leaves.  It was a really fun card to make and I think I might make some more! I may make some as Christmas cards using this layout.
Anyway, thank you for dropping by:-)  Have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU!

Baby Card and Punch Shelves!

The above and below photos are of new shelves I got for my SU punches.  There are two separate sets, each has 3 shelves.  They came as a flat back and ti was really quick and easy to assemble them.  They are really strong sturdy shelves and hold most of my SU punches.  By having the punches in shelves, it gives me more room on my desk, and they are right there close to where I am working.  Previously I had them hanging on the wall, on towel racks I had put up.  This is way better!
Below is a baby card I made for a friend.  The only baby related craft thing I had was the baby carriage die.  I cut it out multiple times and glued them to each other.  The top one is die cut using some shiny gold card, the underneath layers are some scrap card.
Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)
