Flowers and A Snowman!

The flower card was a quick and easy one to make. The words are from an un-mounted "Crafters Companion" stamp set.  I have two of their stamp sets.  I like the writing style of the words.  Here's a close-up of the words I used.
Below is my last Christmas card for 2017.  I used the snowman body from an SU stamp set called "Snow Day."  I also used some sparkly glitter on him, but it doesn't show up here.  IRL he is very sparkly!  I also stuck some tiny gold stars on the green background paper.  Also hard to see on here!
Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Cats!

I published this card in a previous post, but I have since changed the plane from brown to silver.  It didn't look right in brown, with the black and white.
Below is my little Princes "Bella-Rosa"!
She was relaxing on a chair, watching what "Romeo-Valentino" was up to...
...and here is what he was up to!  He had pulled all my CLEAN laundry on to the floor and was busy having a wash on top it!  (Excuse me for interrupting your wash, 'Romeo"!) This is a regular thing he does!

Four Cards and A Bookmark

The cat stamp above and below is from a company called "Katzelkraft", and his name is "Jasper"!  I'sn't he cute?!
I added some sparkle to him using my clear glitter gel pen, however it doesn't show up well in photos.  He is quite "sparkly" IRL!  He was a very quick and easy card I made, for someone whom I know will enjoy the humour in it!!
Above and below is a black and white card I made a couple of weeks back.  I wanted to put some "travel" charms on the card, but couldn't find anything.  I ended up going to "Spotlight" one day and found a set of travel type dies for $5.  The plane and the camera are two of the dies, which fit well on the card!  Now I can post it to..??  She may be checking my blog so she remains anonymous for now!
Here a a couple of close-ups.  The Eiffel Tower is a die and I die cut it in black then stuck it a white card and cut around the edges.
I may cut the plane again in silver card I think, I'm not sure I like the brown with the black and white.  I think silver will look better:-)
Here a bookmark I made.  I embossed in white embossing powder onto a white card.  Then I used my shaving brushes to splosh turquoise, pink and yellow in over the top.  It has been a very long time since I have done any embossing, and it was so much FUN!
Above shows the blue Nuvo Crystal Drops I out in the centre of the swirl stamp.  Below is the embossed "Believe" stamp, which is from an old SU setamp set I have had for years.
Below is a card I made using the white embossing on white card, and once again sploshing 3 colours of ink onto the card using my shaving brushes.  I used 3 different coloured ink pads to splosh the colours onto the white card.  I got the shaving brushes from my local $2 Shop.
The words on the front and inside of the card are two stamps I designed some years ago.  The words below are on the front of the card.
Below are the words stamped inside the card.
Below is the embossed stamp I used in the corners of the card.
And finally another card using the same technique as above.  The word "Christmas" was coloured with a clear sparkly gel pen - it does not photograph well!
I have not made many Christmas cards this year.  I am struggling with guilt at not being able to make and send as many cards as I want to. After my surgery I had (have) no motivation or inspiration to make cards.  It will come back:-)
It's like I have this dark cloud hanging over me and I just can't get motivated.
I hope 2018 changes that and I find my motivation AND my inspiration!  Thanks you for dropping by:-)
Have a "SUNSHINE" day...{HUGS} from me to YOU:-).

It's All Black and White..Except For The Sky!

Looks like I'm back in the saddle again, here's a black and white Christmas card I made yesterday!  I have a soft spot for b&w cards, there's just something a bit different about only using two (three if you count the gold corners and edges) colours.
These photos (below) are close-ups of the flowers and the pearls I used.
I need to get some more of those tiny half pearls next time I am at the $2 Shop.  They are easy to apply because they are all joined, I don't have to stick each one on separately.  I still don't have a lot of concentration, so 'easy' is good right now!

Below are some more photos I took last week of another 'firey' sunset.  We seem to be getting a lot of these lately.  The sky changes so quickly, within a minute of taking these photos, they sky turned to dark grey and then inky black.

Well the only 'sunshine' here today, is ME!  It's very cloudy right now, but quite warm.  The temperatures are definitely rising...but where's the 'sunshine?!'
Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!

OMG! I Made A Card!

After a few health setbacks I think I am finally on the mend:-)  I have multiple health issues and although my hip is healing really well, I had a few times when I was very unwell and pretty much bedridden for a few days.  So when I got up this morning and was feeling a bit brighter I started the above card.  Took me ALL day to get it done, but I made it!
It's a funny red, not really red and not really a burgundy colour.  And it doesn't photograph very well as you can see!  IRL it is a pretty colour...but on here it looks weird! Above is the top flower, and below is the bottom flower.
And what's this, below?!  Well, it's "Romeo-Valentino's" back.  He got too close to the panel heater one night and ended up with two scorch marks on his back!  The fur was all short and looked like it has been cut with some scissors...wasn't ME!  I didn't see it until the next morning, and at first I couldn't figure out how he had done it.  He likes to lie right up against the panel heater and go
to sleep.  Could have been worse I suppose!  His fur has all grown back now:-)

Hurt and Confused

I have two older siblings, a brother and a sister.
I had a (brief) phone call from my brother last night, to tell me my sister had just died and I wasn't allowed to go to the funeral.
I'm trying to come to terms with it, feeling hurt and confused.
My brother achieved what he wanted to, and that was to hurt me.  Well done.
I have had a few set backs health wise recently and am not yet able to do any craft work.  Given the wrong dose of medication has left me feeling like my brain is full of fluff, well, more fluff than usual!  I hope to be able to have something crafty to post soon, but I'm not really sure how long it will be.
Just needed to get this off my chest!  Sorry!
Have a SUNSHINE day:-)  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

House Fire

I am home from hospital and slowly getting my mobility back again!  I'm on crutches or a walker, but can walk a few steps on my own.  I don't have any cards to post, but I did capture these photos of a house nearby that caught fire on Wednesday.  No-one was injured but sadly the house is extensively damaged. I managed to walk on my walker (with my cousin who was staying with me) and take some photos.  The road is a narrow two lane road and was totally blocked with Fire trucks, Ambulance and Police.
The house above is NOT the house that caught fire, that house is in behind the one above. Because the road was blocked off you could only get so far.
And the house in this  photo is also NOT the house on fire.  It is behind the one above.

A "cheeky" photo of one of the firemen getting into his fire gear!  Naughty me!  Well you've got to give it a 'crack' don't you?!
Here is the house that caught fire.  It's about four houses from where I live.
Some of the bushes close to the house also caught fire.

I'm just glad no-one was injured because the firemen weren't sure if anyone was inside the house to begin with.  So it was a huge relief to know the house was empty.
This is the balcony of the house.
And here are some of the firemen and women packing up the fire hoses after the fire.
They all did such a great job and I know the whole community will support these people who lost their house.
Emptying the fire hoses and folding them back up to put back in the firetruck.
They did an amazing job and were so quick at getting to the fire.
And to end on a more pleasant note, as I turned around to come home, I saw these gorjuss purple Cinneraria growing under a hedge!  I just had to take a shot of these happy flowers!
Thanks for dropping by, and thanks to Andrea B for your gorjuss card you sent me!  I have had a rough time after the surgery because of only being able to take Paracetamol for the pain - not recommended as it is no where near strong enough, but I had no option.  I am sooooooooooo exhausted and tired, and have not slept properly for the last 10 days, but I hope that improves soon!  I'm now able to do things for myself, and so I hope to be back making cards and things again soon!  I have a new "ebay" die I have to show you!
BTW, the nurses loved the thank you card I made them and it ended up being shown to the entire ward!
Have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)
