I made the shaker card (above) this morning. I had someone coming to drop off some plants, and I wanted to thank them with a card. It uses a piece of cellophane for the front and it's stuck down at the sides and back of the balloon card. It's a very easy technique and I am happy how it turned out!
I haven't done any crafting for almost a month. I have a sinus infection and am hoping it clears up soon. My Doctor wanted to prescribe Antibiotics, but the only one I can tolerate has to be administered through an IV.
To have that I would have needed to go to hospital as the IV has to be monitored. I didn't want to go to hospital so my Doctor agreed to let me stay at home and try to get rid of the infection myself. It's a real challenge for me because my immune system is very poor and if I get any infection it can (and often does) mean a stay in hospital and having lot's of drugs and blood tests. Not my idea of fun at all. I know who I caught the infection from, and she had no right to be here when she was unwell. "She" (whose name will not be printed here) knew she was ill and knew to stay away. However, she chose not to tell me she was unwell with a sinus infection, and so here I am feeling unwell and having to take all kinds of drugs to make sure I get well, and hopefully keep out of hospital. I've had the infection 2 1/2 weeks now and I am over it!
So this is why I haven't done a lot of crafting lately. Plus I had a horrible migraine that lasted 7 days:-(
Above is "Egg Head, who is, or was, an egg cup! I have planted a small succulent so it rows to look like his hair! The plant has tiny red flowers, when it flowers. I forget the name of it and I can't move to find the tag off it because I have "Romeo-Valentino" curled up behind me, and if I move two things will happen. 1 - He will steal the whole chair and there will be no room for me! 2 - He will get grumpy with me and will possibly nip me! Gently, but still a nip I don't want!
Above is "Miz Violetta"! Below is "Nana Audrey! Both are "String of Pearls'' plants. So much fun to grow and I got the egg cup and glasses from my local Hospice Shop. I am always on the look out for unique/weird/funky containers to grow things in!
I have recently spent some time outside planting 70 odd Daffodil bulbs, 40 Ixia bulbs, 20 odd Crocus bulbs, several pots of Aster seeds, (saved from a beautiful bunch of flowers my neighbours gave me for my 60th almost five years ago, the Asters come up each year) 40 Freesia bulbs, and today I planted two "Ruruhau" plants (Chinese Cabbage/Mustard Greens) that someone gave me. I am in pain from the Fibromyalgia, but find if I keep moving the pain isn't quite so bad - until tomorrow when the pain hits!
My attitude is, I just have keep going, and learn how to pace myself. Rest when I need to and move when I feel like I can without too much pain. Gosh, that's a whole new blog I could start!
On top of the pain, it's darn icy cold here today. No sun, just cloudy and icy cold.
Oh well, I have a nice warm electric blanket when I go to bed...and two furry cats who LOVE the electric blanket and believe it is for them!
Ok, I'm done for today, hopefully more cards coming soon! Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day! Remember to always be your authentic self and shine bright each and every day!
It’s so good to see your post, Sunshine, although I’m sorry hear you haven’t been feeling well. I love your shaker card, and your planters are so cute and clever. We finally brought all our houseplants outside today, which feels good because they take up so much space inside.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading your posts backwards tonight so forgive me if my replies sound out of sync. Our weather has been like a roller coaster here. One day this week up near 90 and today back into the 40's. Too much extremes. I love your little planters. I have my string of pearls in a stemmed glass too, but not with the face. That was such a great idea. I'll have to keep a look out for one as some upcoming rummage sales. Feel better!
