Flower Card, Sunrise, and "Romeo-Valentino"!

The flowers on this card are "Delicate Asters", from a "Heartfelt Creations" die set.  The word stamp is from an un-mounted Crafters Companion stamp set.  Below is a closeup of the flowers and word stamp.  I like the style of writing on the words.
And here's "Romeo-Valentino" trying his best to get into the basket that I had "Mr. and Mrs" Rabbit sitting in the other day!  There was no way he was going to fit his butt in that basket!
So I took the yellow fluffy stuffing out of the basket, and put it on the table, and he decided that would be nice to sleep on, surrounded by plastic Easter eggs!
Below is a gorjuss sunrise I captured early one morning.  The sky was a gorjuss pinky orange colour, which made everything look the same pinky orange colour!

Card and Ear Rings

I was inspired to make the card above, after seeing the earrings, below.  I loved all the bright colours of the jewelry at the Pasifika Festival yesterday.  I had half made the card yesterday, and finished it today.

The pink and black earrings above were $15, which I thought was a bit too expensive.  As well as that, I am sure I can make some myself!  Watch out for them in a future post!
The earrings below are about 2 inches in length and are very light.  The colour changes slightly in the light.  They are more transparent in bright sunlight.  As you can see, they are engraved on the front.  These ones, and the ones in the next photo, were $5 a pair, more my price!
I loved the colours of the ear rings, and it was hard to choose which colours and styles I liked the most!  Pretty much all of them!!

Auckland Pasifika Festival # 2

These are some more photos I took at the Pasifika Festival.  In the top photo, left top, is a head piece I made which I wore to the Festival.  I got some flowers from the $2 Shop and made them into a head band to wear.  Top right are some ear rings I bought at the Festival, and bottom left are the beads I bought.  There was also a few rides and things for the kids to do.  My favourite ride is the Tea Cups and Saucers!  I went on that ride when I visited Disneyland a few years ago!  It was something I had always wanted to do:-)
The weather on Sunday was much hotter and more sunny than it was on Saturday.  And no sign of rain anywhere, even though it was predicted.  I used my umbrella as a sun shade!  I'm so glad I went back again on Sunday, as there was so much to see that one day wasn't enough.  Western Springs, where the Festival was held, is a 64 acre park with a huge lake in the middle of it.  There are multiple pathways around the grounds and it is a great place to go to unwind and relax.  Lots of grassy areas to sit and have a leisurely picnic.
There is lots of bird life in and around the lake, such as Pukeko, which is is Native, as well as Teal, Australian Coots, Shovelers and various kinds of ducks, Geese and Swans. I am scared of the Swans, they can be very nasty if they want to!  Having been chased  by them years ago, I respect them and give them plenty of room!  There are fish and eels in the lake.  Right next to the Park is MOTAT - Museum Of Transport  and Technology.  Around the outside of Western Springs runs an old Tram that goes from MOTAT to the Auckland Zoo, which is situated on the far side of Western Springs.  On the City side of Western Springs is the Auckland Speedway, which I have been to many times!

Pasifika Festival 2018

No cards today, I've been at the Pasifika Festival at Western Springs all day!  Auckland is the biggest Polynesian city and we have lots of  Pacific Island people here.  The Festival is held once a year, and it is so much fun!  Lot's of music and singing, and lot's of yummy food!  I had Honeyed Chicken with rice...yumm!  I missed the Festival last year because I was in too much pain with my hip.  But I made up for it this year!
These are some of the photos I took.  I was lucky with the weather.  Rain was predicted, but it never rained until I was leaving the Festival.  I had my umbrella and raincoat with me. Auckland is such a big multi cultural city and it is great to see the Pacific Islands come together and show us their music and singing.  As well as having lots of clothing and jewelry for sale.  And not forgetting all the delicious food for sale! Yumm!

Quick and Easy Masculine Card #2

This was another quick and easy card to make.  There are three tiny white half pearls below the red bow, however, they are not showing up very well in this photo. Another thing that isn't showing up very well is, I made a collar on the jacket, but as I said, it's hard to see.  Double click on the photo and you may be able to see it better. That's it for now!  There may be more later today...we shall see!

Easter Card!

I don't usually make Easter cards, but I saw this gorjuss Easter Egg die from "Simon Says" (Oval Of Flower die) that has tiny floral cut outs, and thought how pretty it was.  Someone had made a card with it and it had all these pretty colours behind the cut out bits.  I don't have that die so I created my own version of the card!  I die cut an oval shape from white card, then die cut some tiny flowers from blue, pink and yellow card.  I stuck these onto the white oval shape.  Then I cut a larger oval from shiny gold card using my Wonky Stitched dies, and stuck the white oval to the gold oval.  I then stamped "duck egg bunny carrot" across the bottom and top of a folded white card.  These words are all one stamp.  After gluing the gold and white egg to the white card, I lastly added two small blue flowers, one to the top of the egg and one to the bottom.  Inside the card I stamped the words "Happy Easter".  Below is what I stamped on the back of the card...just for fun!!

Christmas Tag, "Bella-Rosa!" and What's This?!

I made this Christmas Tag using a piece of cream coloured card, and and then sponging the edges with Butterscotch and Barn Red coloured ink.  I stamped the lamp and the cat first. They are both one stamp.  After sponging the tag, I embossed it using a Christmas embossing folder.  I added the flowers and the leaves, then added some sparkly clear glitter to the leaves and parts of the Tag.  I also added some  clear Nuvo Crystal Drops.  Below is a closer view of the flowers.
So what's this??!  It's the bottom of the celery I was cutting!  I thought it looked interesting so  I took a photo of it!
Below is my Princess, "Bella-Rosa", sitting in the afternoon sun!  She was eye level with me, so I didn't have to get down on the floor to be at her eye level.  Both my cats love the sun!

Easy Masculine Card and New Stamps!

I made the card above this morning after seeing something similar on Pinterest.  It was very quick and easy to make and took only minutes to finish!  I used some black card for the base, and die cut a Banner from white card using my SU Banner dies.  The red bow was also made using a SU punch.  The word stamp is also from a SU stamp set.  I added three red half pearls for the buttons.  It was seriously quick and easy to make, which I like!
Above are the new stamps I just got.  They are from "Crafters Companion" and came unmounted.  I think there are 15 stamps in total.  I mounted them this morning.
While I was mounting the stamps, this is what "Romeo-Valentino" was doing...sleeping in the sun on one of my desks!  Below is a close up of him.  He loves to lie in the sun in the morning:-)
Below is a long shot of him, sleeping half on the window ledge and half on the desk!  And yes, he is lying all over my card and other arty farty bits on the desk!  He doesn't mind what he sleeps on!

Bunnies, Birds, Butterflies and CRICKETS?!

I made this tiny bunny using 2 Lawn Fawn dies sets.  One set makes the bunny and the other set makes a tiny box to put him on. While I had fun making this, I'm not sure if I will make any more as I found it too fiddly and difficult.  The top photo is front on, the photo below shows him from the side.
Below is the bunny-box from behind.  You can see his cute little tail!  The bunny face is about 1 1/2 inches by 1 7/8.  The box is 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches, by 1 inch in height.  Quite tiny and not easy (for me) to make with sore thumbs.
I coloured the bird (below) using some pencils that show up on black or dark coloured card.  I "forgot" I had these pencils until I cleaned out a draw and "found" them!  They are fun to use!  The stamp is from "Fern Gully" in Australia.  The bird  printed on top of the stamp shows the bird facing to the left, but when you stamp it the bird is actually facing to the right- very confusing!  I re-stamped the bird onto some scrap paper , cut it out and glued it to the top of the stamp so I know which way it really stamps.
The butterfly card below is made using a cling mounted stamp from "Stamp-It" Australia.  The border is from an old clear stamp set and I 'curved' the stamp when I put it on my acrylic block so it would go around the corners of the card.  It came out a bit messy, but I like it!
The butterfly has some clear glitter gel pen on its wings, and I added some sparkly star sequin things to the card.  The card is kind of a 'post card' type, you can write on the white panel at the back of the card.
Okay!  Lets talk about CRICKETS!!  I hate them, I am scared of them, and I am not keen on any kind of bugs/insects.  As long as they keep out of the house I'm ok.  (usually!) But because we have had such a long dry hot/humid summer, the crickets are breeding like rabbits...and are invading peoples houses by the 100's.  Mine included:-(  I am constantly finding them and having to get rid of them. (You don't need to know the graphic details!) I had one in the bedroom last night and at 2.40 am it woke me up with it's shrill 'chirping'.  I got up and spent a good half an hour or more trying to find the darn thing.  I failed miserably:-(  It's still there as far as I know.  I only hear them at night.  I found two very much alive crickets in my kitchen sink when I got up this morning and went to make a cup of tea!  Not funny!  And I have discovered that screaming and yelling at the cats to "get them" does not work!  They sit up on the table watching them but don't catch them.  i'm not sure who is more afraid of them, me or the cats!  So I didn't get a lot of sleep last night and am feeling the effects of it as the day wears on.  I HAVE to get rid of that cricket BEFORE I go to sleep tonight!  Wish me luck!   It has been on the news on tv that heaps of people are inundated with crickets coming into their homes...I wish I WASN'T one of them!  Deep *sigh*.

Butterfly Card, Owls and Romeo-Valentino!

I made this butterfly card using one of the butterfly punches from SU.  I first cut the butterfly from raspberry coloured card, then twice from vellum.  I cut the the second vellum butterfly a bit smaller than the first one.  I used a couple of different leaf stamps, and the words are from an older SU stamp set.
Below is "Romeo-Valentino" wrapped up in one of my skirts!  The skirt was laying on the end of the bed and he managed to get himself wrapped up in it!  I took this photo on my mobile phone so the quality is not as good as my other camera.
Below is a large owl which is made of paper.  It is displayed in my local shopping mall.  It was hard to photograph as the light inside the mall was really bright.  This is the back of the owl
Below is the front of the owl.  I might take my proper camera and take some better photos.  There are other owls displayed around the mall, but I liked this on the most.  The others were a bit smaller than this one. I wold love to have him in my garden!
