Heat Embossing Tip!

I lined a small cardboard box with some kitchen foil, making sure the entire bottom of the box was covered.  You can also line the insides of the box.  Then I stamped my image and covered it with embossing powder, and put it on the bottom of the box.  Then I embossed it with my heat gun.  No burnt fingers!  It's easy to make the box, and when it's not in use it goes under my desk ready for when I need it.

"Somewhere Over The Rainbow..."

Two new cards!  Rainbows and a Christmas Gnome! I stamped the word "Rainbow" using SU stamp set, "Over The rainbow", and hand cut the word out.  The coloured strips were made using a die.  As was the black rainbow shape.  I can't remember which company they are from  as I have thrown away the packet they came in.  I adhered the word "Rainbow" using some sponge tape to give it some depth.  The smaller words are a stamp and die set from Taylored Expressions.
This "Gnoel" card was a lot of fun to make! I stamped and die cut the gnome then coloured him before sticking him on the card, behind the cut out circles.  He has some green flocking on his hat.

Feelin' Punchy!

I am slowly getting back into crafting after being in hospital.  I still have the horrible fatigue, hopefully it gets less and less each day.  I made the Elephant above, using circle punches for his body and head, a butterfly punch for his ears (cut in half) and an oval for his legs.  He is supposed to look like he is sitting down!  I made his tail and trunk from the SU Playful Pals die set.  The balloon is also die cut.  He was lots of fun to make!
I made this card using an ice block stick and a gold star  using an SU star punch.  I adhered it all to the card using sponge tape.  I lastly stamped the words and a few tiny stars and it was done!

Just Another Saturday Night...Whoops, Crash!

This is what happens when you drive under the influence of drugs.  This happened right outside my place, around 9.20 pm last night.  Luckily no-one was hurt.  I took the first four photos when it happened last night.  The other six I took early this morning.

The driver of the white van on the right of the photo's came down Atkinson Road (it's a very steep hill), swerving all over the road, and crossed the center line and smashed into my neighbours two (legally) parked car and van.

I spoke with 2 people who  had followed the white van down the hill, and they said he was swerving all over the road and had driven across a traffic island at the top of this road.  The driver of the white van smelt of Marijuana and could barely walk or stand.
The driver that crashed was taken away by the Police. This happened across the road from where I live.

They managed to push the white van off the footpath so it was parked on the road, but facing the wrong way. When the crash happened I was watching some movie on TV.  I heard the van revving like anything as he came down the hill, and then "CRASH".  I grabbed my dressing gown, put my shoes on and off I went with my camera.

This is a great example of why Marijuana should not be legalized in NZ.  Do we need/want shops legally selling it??  Not in my mind we don't.  People will use it whether or not it is legal, but we don't need shops selling it.
Thank heavens this happened at a reasonably quiet time of night.

I made this Elephant pyramid box the other day.  No sooner was it made and a friend called by and bought it for her niece!  I left the box open so she could put a little gift inside.  I'm still feeling tired after being in hospital, but I am dabbling with my craft stuff!

Three Cards and A Pyramid Box!

I made the first two cards using a Tim Holtz die.  It's a very intricate die and gave me a headache trying to pop all the tiny bits out of the die cut piece😒.  I have since ordered a metal shim to make it easier.  I like this die and it doesn't need a lot of embellishments to finish it off.  The stamped words are from Taylored Expressions.
Below is another SU Playful Pals "Ellie-phant" card, this time in pink!
Below is a frog pyramid box. This stamp and die set is so much fun to play with!
These cards etc were made last week, but because I have been in hospital twice in the last eight days, they are only just being posted now.  I am still very tired and am enjoying my own company and enjoying the peace and quiet.  I don't even want the tv or radio on, I just want some "quiet" time while I recover.
Oh, and Blogger is doing weird stuff again, like not publishing my comments😡.  Curse you Blogger👿.  But I'm on to you, I know where to find the un-published comments and then publish them.  It's just a nuisance.
Ok, thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Miss Ellie!

I'm still playing around with my SU Playful Pals stamp and die set, and this time I made the pyramid box with Miss Ellie!  Below is her butt, and yes, she as a tail!

"Ellie"-phant Card!

This is "Ellie"!  I made her using the Stampin' Up! "Playful Pals stamp and die set.  This card was so much fun to make and is the first card I have made using that set. As you can see, she is 3D, her trunk lifts up and down!  Below is a side on photo so you can see her trunk better.  This is such a fun set!  I bought it cheap second hand from a Facebook site, and it is a brand new unused set.
Today was a quiet day for me, I spent most of yesterday in hospital so I am kind of recovering at home.  I'm feeling ok, just very tired.  I was happy when this set arrived in today's mail, and gave me something fun to focus on!

Two More Snowflake Cards!

I managed to finish two more Snowflake cards in different colours today. They took me awhile because I have a cut on the end of my right thumb. It's sore if I bump it, and I have a sticking plaster on  it which makes it  hard to do things - such as making cards!   It was challenging to try to pick the snowflakes up, and then they kept sticking to the plaster on my thumb!

Snowflakes and Itty Bitty Babies!

Here is the card I made today.  I brushed a circle.  After punching out some vellum snowflakes, I adhered them to the card, in a circle.  I die cut the word "Sparkle" in shiny gold card and attached it across the circle of snowflakes.  I die cut 3 small white flower shapes and attached them randomly to the card.  I finally added some white sequins (they look kind of pink here!) and some clear glass droplets.  I attached the finished white card to a piece of shiny gold card, and attached that to a piece of pale blue card.
Below is the sentiment I stamped inside the card.  I attached the white card with the sentiment onto a piece of shiny gold card, and finally attached that tot he inside of the card.  The sentiment stamp is from Suzanne Cannon.  Her stamps and dies are available from Emerald Creek.  This card really sparkles in the light, and I am very happy with how it turned out.  I wasn't sure if I liked it when I started it, but I kept going and as it progressed I could see it beginning to "bloom"!
A tip about die cutting with intricate dies and vellum. When I first die cut the snowflakes, they stuck inside the die and ripped when I tried to get them out.  I ended up 'colouring' the die with a white crayon, and then die cutting the vellum.  It was then much easier to get the velum snowflake out of the die without ripping it.  A candle will do if you don't have a white crayon. It just waxes the die so the vellum releases easily.
Below is a photo of a new plant I have growing.  It's called, "Cat's Paw!"
This photo below, is "Puddle-duck Boy", and HE is a SHE.  But I gave her the name before I knew if he was a she or a he!  She lost her mum some weeks ago when she was very tiny.  She hung around my place and I kept feeding her (cat food and other scraps suitable for a duck) and she has never left!  She has been here for weeks.  She knows my voice and greets me in the morning.  She is a very happy duck and loves to splash around in her "pool"!
And half an hour ago I found these below, on my front lawn!  Nine baby ducks and their mother!  Wild ducks have always come visiting, I have a large back yard and they know it is a safe place to visit!  (Or stay, as "Puddle-duck Boy" has!)  Maybe I should charge them rent?!

Comment Issues With Blogger.

It appears that some of us bloggers are not receiving email notifications when comments are left on our blogs.  This includes me.  I have spent some time going through my blog settings to see what is going on.  In the end, it turns out it has nothing to do with my settings.  The issue is with Blogger itself.  I Goggled the problem and discovered that a lot of bloggers are having the exact same issue.  Apparently Blogger is working on fixing it.  So if you are one of the many bloggers having this problem, know that Blogger are fixing it.  Hopefully.  I am now checking my "Comments" section in my blog settings each day to check for comments, just to make sure I am getting them.  Hope this helps!
