"Cards, Cat's, and...?!"

A quick and easy card to make, using up scraps of card!  I got the idea for this card (and using your card scraps from Patty. Please hop on over to her blog, she makes great cards!  Thanks Patty:-)
"Bella-Rosa" inside the new t.shirt tent I made them!
Another quick and easy card the same as the one above just in a different colour!  The leaves are a pale green with white dots but it is not showing up green here at all!
...And these are my slippers! As you can see, there is a gold bauble missing on the right slipper.  I think, no, I know, one of my cats (and  I know which one...he is black and white and called Romeo- Valentino..) attacked the slippers one day and off came the gold bauble!  Now, all I need is an elf suit in my size...

Cards, Cat's, Flowers and Spooky Stuff!

Here's what's on my blackboard today!  I like thought provoking and inspiring quotes.
I know I know, yet another cat Christmas card!  *Sighhh*!
Two shots of "Romeo-Valentino"!  The top photo is of him inside (or mostly inside!) the t. shirt cat tent I made for them!  He was in it before I had even finished putting the t. shirt over the frame!  IT is made with two wire coat hangers a baggy t. shirt and a piece of 13x13 inch card.  He loves it!
The bottom photo is of him in his Halloween costume!  Looking, well, looking like he is about to chop my head off with his very sharp axe!  OMG can you imagine it...blood all over the carpet...what a mess to clean up!!  No no, let me hide that very sharp axe before he gets any more idea's, I want to live to enjoy another Halloween...and I have Christmas cards to make...help!!
This bottom photo is of my front window that I decorated with Halloween stuff this morning.  It was lot's of fun until Casper fell down and had to be stuck back on to the window!
These next photo's are of things flowering in my garden at the moment.  This is what I know as a Snowball Tree.  Not sure of the proper name.
This is a Daisy that spreads quite rapidly.  You can cut it back and it will re-grow again quite well.
This pale purple flower is one of he Geraniums I have growing.
This yellow rose is gorjuss IRL.  It has taken a couple of years to get going and this year it is finally flowering really well and spreading out.  It is a climber.  The flowers are quite tiny and easily fit in the palm of my hand.

Top and bottom photo's are of two more Geraniums I have.

The orange flower is a Nasturtium I have growing, and in spite of the stupid lawn mower guy chopping it with the lawn mower, it continues to do well!  Below is a type of daisy that just loves the sun!
This yellow daisy is very tiny and is a succulent I have had for many years.  EVERY single piece of it that drops into the garden grows!

The purple flower above is Catnip.  As well as the cats loving the scent of this...I do too!  Although it doesn't make me stupid like it does the cats!  I do that on my own!
The pink flower above is yet another Geranium I have in a pot.  So far it only has one flower.
The pale pin flower above is a double Primula and it is growing in a pot.  It comes out a darker pink in the center and pale pink on the outside.  It's very dainty.
The last photo is of one of the many African Violets I have growing inside in pots.  I grew this plant from a leaf from the original plant.
Thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoyed your "walk" through my garden! {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

More Christmas Cats!

Two Christmas cards I made today.  The bottom cards was made using some card scraps I had, so the cats are smaller than the top ones.  So cute!
Thanks for dropping by, {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Two Christmas Cards

This cat card is one of my Christmas cards.  Since posting the other ones in posts below, I have added a red heart to one of the cats on each card.
I made this card using the Stampin' Up! tree punch to make the tree's.  I added some half pearls to each tree.  I used sponged tape to stick the tree's to the card.
Thanks for visiting, {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

"I'm Feline Catty!"

Here are some more cat cards I have made.  I added some sponged stripes to the black cat!  I have been cutting these cats out by hand so far, but have just ordered the Banners Framelit dies so it will be a lot easier and quicker for me!
After making the cards I thought why not make the cat out of a paper bag?!  So I did!  You could make these and put a gift inside!
After cutting out the shape I embossed each cat with various embossing folders.  Then I added the nose and whiskers and lastly added the eye's.  I attached each cat to the base card. with sponge tape.  Before assembling the card I lightly sponge around the edges with a Sepia coloured ink pad.
Here's another bookmark I made.  I have sponged some stripes onto him to give him a bit of character!
Happy Labour weekend to all the Kiwi's reading this!  Thanks for visiting, {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Bookmark

After finishing the cat cards in the post below, I had one cat left over!  So I made a book mark with him!  I stamped a Stampin' Up! stamp on the book mark, it say's, "Kindness comes in many forms but always from the heart." Thanks for visiting, {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Cat Cards and More!

I found these cute cat cards on Diane's blog and fell in love with them!  So much so I made four of them!
And I haven't finished making them yet!  They are so much fun to make and each one is different.
This one is for Christmas and I think I will make some more like it.  The hardest part, for me, was putting the little paper brads on because my two thumbs are so painful (arthritis) and they won't hold tiny things.  But I wasn't letting that stop me!
This white Christmas card is much nicer IRL.  The gold oval is very sparkly.  Once again my thumbs were a challenge trying to stick the half pearls onto the tree's.
This was a quick and simple card to make.  The penguin has some sparkly clear gel pen on his scarf and ice skates, but you can't see it on here:- Bummer, I hate it when that happens!
I have used some different brads on some of the cats noses.  Not sure which ones I like the most!  Thanks for visiting, {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Breaking News!!

News flash!!  I just got my refund from www.fishpond.co.nz.  It took seven days for them to deposit the refund into my personal bank account...they quote "2-5" days.  At least I got it!
To see what I am talking about you will have to go back a few posts.
Have a fab day... I am! {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Ink/Color Dusters Vs Shaving Brushes

The top photo is of a pack of Color Dusters from Judikins.  They aren't available here in New Zealand, so I went on the "hunt" for something else...
...and I found these, shaving brushes.  I bought a couple and came home and tried them out...
...and this is the card I made using them.  The shaving brushes give a very soft effect (the colours around the hedgehog) as opposed to my old stippling brushes. (Below) Also I used to do some sponging on some of my cards but I found it messy and I could never get the sponging quite right, there was always a blob of ink that was too dark.  And it was never 'smooth'. You don't get that with the shaving brushes!
If you cannot get the Ink or Color Dusters, try shaving brushes because you get the same effect!  They cost $2 each and I found mine at one of the $2 Shops.  Once I knew they worked, I went back the next day and got some more.  I am sure the assistant (who had served me the day before!) wondered why I was buying so many men's shaving brushes!!
You can see that the stippling brushes are much thinner than the shaving brushes.  The shaving brushes are softer than the stippling brushes too.  BTW, some companies call them Ink Dusters and some call them Color Dusters.
Okay that's all for now!  Thank you for visiting, {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Flower Card

This was a quick card I made yesterday.  I used the Petal Potpourri stamp set from Stampin' Up! and the matching punch for the flowers. The words are also from an SU stamp set.

Snow Person Card and Ink Dusters!

Okay, first the card!  I found several of these cards  on Google somewhere - if it is your idea please let me know so I can give you credit!  He/she was easy to make ad lot's of fun! ("Fun" is always important!)  Basically it is half a white circle, with wobbly eyes and a slice of orange card for his/her nose.  Add a scarf, some sparkly stars and some stamped words and bingo you have a snow person! The stars are kind of clear but sparkly.

Okay, onto the "Ink Dusters"!  These seem to be similar to stipple brushes but softer so you get a very soft effect that blends colours seamlessly.  I would like some but they only seem to be available in the UK and are very expensive by the time you pay postage to NZ. Does anyone know where else I can buy them?  Maybe Australia or New Zealand? If you know anything about these brushes could you email me please?!  sapphirerose@orcon.net.nz   Thank you, and thanks for visiting, {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Blackberry Bliss Card

Same layout as the two previous posts but I used Blackberry Bliss ink.   Not sure if it looks good as a Christmas card - maybe it will grow on me?!  I love the Blackberry Bliss colour but oh boy it is messy:-(  Thanks for visiting, {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Black and White Christmas Card

This card is the same design as the ones below except I have stamped it all in black and added red gem stones to the center of each flower.  See the post below for details of stamps used.
Thanks for visiting! {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Three Quick Christmas Cards

These are some Christmas cards I made today.  I used my Stampin' Up! "Petal Potpourri" stamp set with the matching die for the flowers.  I used my Real Red SU stamp pad on the flowers and stuck them to the card with some sponge tape.  The leaves behind the flowers is from a clear set of stamps I have had for a few years.  No idea what it's called.  (It isn't from SU) I only inked the leaves not the entire stem and stamped it three times.  I added the Christmas greeting (also SU) at the top of the card and it was done!
The cards have a blank insert inside to write a message on.

Canvas

This is a canvas I am working on.  It is about 2  1/2 foot by 1 1/2 foot.  It was white originally so first of all I spritzed it with various coloured inks.  In the centre is a stamped face which I will colour in and add embellishments to.  I am using things I already have - bits and pieces that needed either using up, throwing out, or passing on to someone else.  I had fun doing this so far but it was messy!  I had flowers and bits all over the place!  I bought the canvas for $1 at the local Op Shop sometime ago and it was just waiting to be used!
Okay that's me for today!  Thank you for visiting, {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Update On The "Warning" In The Post Below!

I received an email from fishpond.co.nz last night saying they would refund my $28.97 into my bank account but they would need my bank account details!  Seriously?! Are you kidding me?!  This was funny because they already had my details as they had asked for them when I asked for the refund! I went to my  page on fishpond and yes there it was, my bank details they had asked for!  Anyhow I emailed them the details, again, and am now waiting (again, deep *sigh*) for the deposit to show up on MY OWN bank account.  I live in hope.  (Another deep *sigh*...)
Thanks for reading this, I know it isn't all that interesting but it is important to me!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Two Cards, A Cat and A Warning!!

The witch card is a stamp and die set from Stampitcrazy in Ohio. (Thanks Barb!)
Is she cute or what?!  The set also has the words, "Trick or Treat".
The next card is a baby card I made.  I had bought some new pink card and wanted to make something with it.
And this gorjuss bloke is my neighbors cat, "Tiny"!  He spends most of the day and into the night here at my place.  He is very welcome and I feed him too.  He's very relaxed and loves scratch under the chin!  I had to take the photo through an open window because every time he see's me he wants food!  He is always hungry because he was abandoned as a kitten.  His owner knows where he is if she can't find him and she doesn't mind that I feed him. He loves sleeping in the sun!

Okay, now for the warning!   Just over a month or so ago I ordered some plastic storage pockets from an online company called fishpond.co.nz   The advertisement read that you would be buying  5 packages and each package had 6 pockets in.  I had already purchased some here in NZ as you can see in several posts below.  Th cost here was $6 a package.  The cost of fishpond.co.nz was $28.97 and there was no postage costs.  Believing I was getting 5 packages of six pockets I thought this was cheap so I ordered and paid for them.  A month later they arrived...ONE packet of six pockets.  I requested a refund and was asked to supply my bank account number which I did.  I returned the packet to fishpond.  I then got an email saying the money would be refunded to my bank account number in a few days.  I waited.  Nothing showed up in my account.  THEN I discover yes they had given me a refund in the way of a fishpond credit of $28.97 in my fishpond account! This meant I would have to buy something else from fishpond and I don't want to do that.  I have now emailed them telling them to deposit the refund into my own bank account - remember, they asked for my bank account details.  I am waiting for a reply. Just wanted to warn anyone buying stuff off fishpond.co.nz to be aware of their refund policy and also how they word their advertised products.  And do your research because you can buy the same products much cheaper he in NZ.
I am sorry this is rambling on but fishpond are not going to get away with this.  They WILL refund MY money into MY OWN personal bank account!!  This is the second time recently I ave been ripped off by an online company and I am over it!!
Okay I have vented my anger now, thank you for visiting, {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)
