Calendar Cover - 2009

This is the cover of my 2009 calendar I made over the weekend. The flower shaped gems are actually bright pink but the silver underneath is showing them as ...silver! I airbrushed the green using my copics. Big job but it was fun!

January 2009 Calendar

Ok, I have been working on this for a few days now & finally it is finished!
I first stamped the calendar stamp on white card, in black ink. Then I used my biggest Mega rectangle nestie to cut out the scallop shape. I had to adjust the nestie to chop off the excess bit as it was wide enough but too long. I used various scrap book paper for the backgrounds of each month, this is stuck onto some white 6 x 4 cards. I stamped the 'blank' days with a tiny flower stamp in different colours. I have used Memento ink pads as I like the vibrant colours & they are fade resistant.
Below are all the months of the year - enjoy & thanks for visiting!

...I just realised I forgot to stamp a tiny red heart on Valentines Day...I'll do it now...

What's This?!

Ok, so the "colour fairy" has fluffed the colours on here...it SHOULD be showing up as lime green not washed out peppermint green! :-( And the ice block stick is bright red! True!
Anyway, this is a note book I made into a lollipop! I found the notebook for $1 & knew I could make it into a lollipop! The notebook is actually a sort of light bulb shape & it had a wire hook with beads on it when I bought it. I took the wire hook off & cut 2 scallop circles with my nesties then run them through one of my cb embossing folders. I stuck these onto the cover, taping the iceblock stick underneath so you can't see it. The red bow was already on the notebook so I took it off & re-glued it to the front. For $1 it turned into a nice Xmas gift! The pages in the notebook have little red hearts printed on them. This & the calendar below, was my lot for the day! Thanks for dropping by & have a great weekend - we had an awesome sunny & hot day today - I think Winter has truly GONE at last!!

Bind-It-All Calendar Page 1

Here is what I have been working on for that last day! I stamped my calendar stamp (Alias Smith & Rowe) to make the 12 months. Then I cut each one out using one of my mega rectangle nesties. I then glued different scrap book paper onto some white 6x4 cards. I did a different one for each month. The covers(front & back) are still blank at this stage, I will finish it off over the next day or two, as time & inspiration permit! I used my Bind-It-All for the spiral binding. I will decorate each page with gems etc & add the month down one side next to the calendar. I will also add the date to each page as I go. This was ALOT of fun to make & I HOPE I have the energy to make some more! This is the first page, the post below is the second page. I will show you the (entirely) finished version when it is complete! I just HAD to blog it now because I liked it so much! Quite a bit of work involved but worth the effort!

In The Pink

I used some pink shimmer sheetz for this card - that coloured mylar stuff. I used my Friends Forever cb embossing folder to emboss it. This stuff embosses really well! I layered it onto a pink card & punched the corners using one of my fancy punches. Then I layered it onto a dark wine coloured card & it was done!
I didn't add any embellishments to it because the mylar is enough glitz, I think!
A quick & easy card to make! The hardest part was deciding what cloured mylar to use & which folder to emboss it with! That took me 10 minutes & a cup of tea!
Have a good weekend & thanks for visiting!

My Sketch Book!

When I have an idea for a card layout, or colour combo I like or even just words that come into my head, this is where I draw or write them down! It's just a plain paged notebook thing & I have decorated the front & put tabs on each page. I used my scallop circle nesties for the circles& stamped one of my journal stamps on the white circle. It says "Thinkings, Inklings, Inkings, Sketches, Colours & Card Idea's! I added stick on pearls to the scallops on the white card & some paper flowers to the corners. The aqua butterfly & daisy are from a cb die. The colours are HOT pink & a very bright aqua, which is not showing as bright as they really are :-( I also put some stick on gems I recently found cheap somewhere. I don't always buy my stuff from craft shops; I once found some gorgeous tiny gems for $1 a packet (about 50 in each packet) which were from a Japanese shop! Sadly the shop closed down & moved! I look for craft stuff everywhere I go, you can find stuff in some odd places! I think that's it for today, thanks for visiting:-)

Journal With Tabs

I made this journal/diary for a friends birthday. I used my Bind-it-All & some gorgeous hand made paper that was given to me. The colours are aqua & silver & are (in reality!) nice & bright & the silver is sparkly! I added some tabs to each page using my SU round tab punch. I missed my friends birthday as I was in hospital so have only just finished the journal. I will post it to her asap.
I just adore this paper & if I ever see any more I will HAVE to buy it! (What?! You haven't guessed...I am a paperholic!..and proud of it!)
Thanks for visiting..have a great week!

Yellow Flowers For YOU!

It was a simple case of stamp, sponge & swirl for this card! SO easy! I stamped the flower (Hero Arts) in black Impress ink. Then I inked up a sponge with yellow ink & carefully dabbed it on the flower, then I swished the sponge in circles & it was done! You don't want too much ink on the sponge, it's easier to add more than try & get rid of too much!
This was only going to be a "let's-try-it-out- and-see-what-happens" test card, but it came out good enough to make a card with! I stamped the leaves in green (Tea Leaves) ink randomly. I lastly added some orange & lime ribbon (it's really bright in reality!) 2 yellow brads, a couple of white daisies & it was done! Oh yes, I also layered the daisies onto black card, then onto the yellow card. All the colours are nice & bright..in reality! You gotta believe me!
Hope you had a great weekend & thanks for visiting! Heart hugs from Sunshine!

Cute Card!

Here is the open (left) and closed (top) version of this little scallop card. I cut out a large scallop shape using my nesties, then adjusted a square piece of card (the dark brown card) to fit behind it. I scored a small section of the scallop so the card would open easier & added 2 brass coloured brads to hold the card together. I added some flowers & gems & a few dots of kindy glitz. On the inside of the card I stuck a small square of pink card & stamped some words (Stamps by Judith) on it. Not alot of work but very cute & would make great invitations for kids parties! Or anything for that matter!

Penguin Hula Girl!

Hmmm, I really DO have gremlins in this scanner! The colours on here should be BRIGHT pink, BRIGHT purple & BRIGHT aqua!! Really, believe me!
I used different nesties, circles & square for this card & a piece of purple card that I had cut out in a wavy shape & run through my cb Swirls eb folder. It just so happened that I "found" that scrap of card while looking for something else. (Which I never did find!) I also added some kindy glitz & some sparkly stick on diamonds & the card was done!
I only made one card today, I spent the rest of my time (well, alot of it!) looking for a place where I bought some cheap card in bulk, a couple of years ago. I finally found the address, much to my joy! Now I can order more! If anyone (particularly in NZ) is interested, it is called Timbrel Paper Products & they are in Upper Hutt City Wellington. They are on the Internet, just google their address.

Thank YOU!

Ok, this card has two meanings! Thank YOU for visiting my blog (& I hope you come back again sometime!) & a thank you card I am giving to my neighbours to thank them for all they did for me when I was in hospital recently.
I used my floral screen cb eb folder for the pink card & my circle nesties for the 2 circles. The butterfly is a clear silver edged sticker stuck onto some hot pink card. (Truly, it IS hot pink not pale pink as it shows on here!) I stuck some diamond gems on each corner of the card & it was done. Nice & easy!

Penguin Boy

Oh dear! My clear diamond gems look BLACK on this card! I can assure you they are not black but clear& very sparkly!
Once again I used my circle nesties to make the various circles. The yellow & green are bright colours but his doesn't show up on here :-(
I used some a scrap of background paper & added two white daisy things, one to either side.
The penguin (ktcrafts) has kindy glitz on him too. That's about all I did for this card!
Thanks for visiting, see you next time!

Almost Summer?!

Ooops! This red card is actually bright orange!! All the colours on this card are very bright in reality!
I stamped the penguin (from ktcrafts) & then masked him & airbrushed the blue around him with one of my copics. I then used the blender copic to put small white 'dots' on the blue background - it sucks up the colour so you get white spots. Not easy to see on here. I used my square nesties & swiss dots cb eb folder for the lime green strip of card. I coloured & glittered the penguin & he was finished!

Circles & Flowers

I used my nesties to cut out the different sized circles on here. I used lilac, white & black card for these. I stamped different small flower heads onto the white card them lightly sponged or used my copics to colour them. I added a paper flower to the center when I had finished & also added white dots to the black card. I layered the circles onto some lilac & silver ribbon. lastly I put some lilac (even though they LOOK silver!) brads in each corner of the pink card. Thanks for visiting & come back soon!

Baby Bib Card

Too cute, too cute TOO CUTE!! I just love this cute little baby card! :-) I got the idea from Lynda, PLEASE check her blog because she has some gorgeous cards - a very talented lady! I liked it SO much I have made several more! I used my largest oval scallop nestie & moved the nestie up off the card before I cut it, so that the card is hinged, if you know what I mean?! Yeah, you guys are smart, you know what I mean!
I then used a slightly smaller plain oval nestie for the other bit. I added a 3D teddy bear sticker - 'cause I didn't have a TB stamp the right size - in the center of the bib. I added a bow & some ribbon for the ties.
Oh how I WISH (is the 'wish fairy' listening?!) I had MEGA oval nesties...
Enjoy, & thanks for visiting...heart hugs from me to YOU!

Happy H-OWL-oween

I cased this card from Hero Arts & just love the colour combination! I didn't have an owl/ghost stamp so I drew my own on some white card & cut it out! I hand drew the black line around the owl/ghost. I glued on some wobbly eyes & stamped the spiders in the right places. I have drawn some white (very hard to see!) dotted lines for the spiders' web. I also had to hand draw the owl/ghosts' feet! I used my Love Letters Alphabet stamp set for the words & coloured the words using my copics. That's about all I did for this cute card! Thanks for visiting & have a fun day!

Mini Santa

I used a new set of stamps for the red (dots & lines) circles. They have circle word stamps that fit in the center. Santa is a Stampendous stamp. I have layered the red white & green circles (nesties) & the red scallop is some very fine net like material, it has gold flecks in it. I used my cb folder Snow Dots for the green back ground card. Thanks for visitng & have a great weekend!

Star Santa

This Santa stamp is from Hero Arts. I used my cb folder Christmas Ornaments for the red card. I used my nesties to cut out the red & white circles. The red scallop is a piec of fine net like material that has gold flecks in it. The nesties cut through it with ease! Santa has kindy glitz on him which is a bit hard to see on here. I added a tiny red pom pom to his hat.

Flower Girl

I don't know what company made this stamp, it was an un-mounted one given to me some years ago. But isn't she cute! I used my meaga rectangle nesties for the white card. I made some paper flowers with my cb dies & added pale pink flowers to the centers, with a stick on pearl. I coloured her using a mixture of copics & water colour crayons. The colouring in is not my best effort as I did this before I had my reading glasses back! I was desperate to colour it so I had a go!

Pearls & Flowers

I used my forest branches eb folder on one side of this card. Using my mega rectangle nesties I cut out the pink & white rectangles.
I made two cream coloured paper flowers using my cb flower dies & added a pale pink paper flower on top & lastly stuck a stick on pearl to the center of each flower. That was it! Another quick card!

Baby Thank You Cards # 1

I made ten of these cards, & ten f the ones on the post below. I used my Thank You embossing folder for the background & the stamp was a really cheap one from ?? 'somewhere! I used some lavender card for the plain square. I lightly coloured the bunny & flowers using my copics. These were quick & easy cards to make!

Baby Thank You Cards # 2

Here are the 2nd batch of Baby Thank You cards I made. I used the Baby embossing folder for theses ones & the fluffy bunny slippers are a stamp from Stampendous. I used my circle nesties for the white & lavender circles. s I said...easy cards to make!
