Sunday's Crafting!

I made the Berry Basket (above) using a die from Stampin' Up!  So quick and easy to make!  The strawberries/punch are also both from SU.  I turn 65 just a few days before Christmas, and have decided to have a "Champagne & Strawberries" afternoon! I'm hoping to make some C & S invitations to send out.  I will also make more baskets and line them with paper napkins and have some strawberries sitting in them for us all to eat.  There will be other strawberry related food as well.  As long as we are not back in lockdown and Covid behaves itself, all should go to plan!  The basket measures around 3x4 inches, not including the height of the handle.
Below are two random cards I made.  On the pink one I was experimenting with my new Catherine Pooler Ink Pads.  Just trying out the colours.
Below are two quick and easy, no colouring in Christmas cards.  Once again, I was trying out   my new CP Ink Pads.  The snowflakes were punched out of gold card.

Two different snowmen!  (I am obsessed with snowmen stamps!)  The one on the right has some "Nellies Snow Effects" Snow on the bottom of his hat.  Fun stuff to play with and dries quickly.

Painted Stars.

I've started making some Christmas gifts.  I stamped using black Stazon ink) tis cute Impression Obsession snow man onto a wooded star.  The size is about 2 3/4 inches.
To colour the image I have used water colour pencils.  Then I added some liquid clear glitter.  Once that was dry I lightly sprayed the star with hair spray to seal the image.  He is a bit more sparkly in real life.

"Hello Kitty"

Here are some cute little "Hello Kitty" purses I made, using the Stampin' Up! Petite Purse Die.  I used little red puffy material hearts for the bows.  The eyes and noses were punched out using my SU Owl punch.
I used "Art Glitter" adhesive to glue them together.  I LOVE this glue!  It dries nice and quickly and is clear, almost invisible once dry.
I will add  candy or lip gloss to put inside the purses and then wrap them in cellophane tied with a ribbon bow, to use as gifts and to sell closer to Christmas. These are super fun to make!

"Large Marge"

"Large Marge" is not feeling well.  She's in bed feeling very sorry for herself.  She hates being in bed.  She would much rather be outside chasing mice, or birds, or better still, the dog next door. She's always teasing the dog next door, but that's another story for another day.
"Large Marge's" owner took her temperature this morning - you know where they put the thermometer??  "Large Marge" was very indignant and felt like she had been violated.  It was not pleasant.  She will get well. (It was just a fur-ball) But she certainly will not be taking the advice of some Purr-resident.

Above shows the card, with the stamp I used.  I just turned the stamp on it's side.  I had to hand draw the bed! Eek! The images have some sparkly clear gel pen around the edges of them.  Sparkly stuff is notoriously challenging to photograph.  Grrr.

Meet the " Sweet and Sours"!

I know, it' not a card, but after 25 days of being in isolation at home, I am going a bit nutty!  This morning as I was adjusting my lemons (please, keep it clean!) I realized they had smiles on their faces!  So out came the craft bits, stick on wobbly eyes, some paper flowers and permanent marker!  This is what happens when you get a bit bored, you start looking at normal every day things a bit differently!
I will hopefully have a card done by the end of today.
In the mean time please enjoy the "Sweet and Sours"!

"The Invitation"

It doesn't interest me
what you do for a living.
I want to know
what you ache for
and if you dare to dream
of meeting your hearts longing.

It doesn't interest me
how old you are
I want to know
if you will risk
looking like a fool
for love
for your dream
for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me
what planets are
squaring your moon...
I want to know
if you have touched
the center of your own sorrow
if you have been opened
by life's betrayals
or have become shriveled and closed
from fear of further pain.

I want to know
if you can sit with pain
mine or your own
without moving to hide it
or fade it
or fix it.

I want to know
if you can be with joy
mine or your own
if you can dance with wilderness
and let the ecstasy fill you
to the tips of your fingers and toes
without cautioning us
to be careful
to be realistic
to remember the limitations
of being human.

It doesn't interest me
if the story you are telling me
is true.
I want to know if you can
disappoint another
to be true to yourself.
If you can bear
the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul.
If you can be faithless
and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know
if you can see beauty
even when it is not pretty
every day
and if you can source your own life
from it's presence.

I want to know
if you can live with failure
yours and mine
and still stand at the edge of the lake
and shout to the silver of the full moon
"yes".

It doesn't interest me
where you live
or how much money you have
I want to know if you can get up
after the night of grief and despair
weary and bruised to the bone
and do what needs to be done
to feed the children.

It doesn't interest me
who you know
or how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand
in the center of the fire
with me
and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me
where or what or with whom
you have studied.
I want to know
what sustains you
from the inside
when all else falls away.

I want to know
if you can be alone
with yourself
and if you truly like
the company you keep
in the empty moments.

This is a poem by Oriah Mountain Dreamer.  Hope you like it.
Cards coming later!

"Lula-Belle Irene's Pill" and Other Stuff.

I made the butterfly using a Tim Holtz cut and emboss folder.  I used a piece of water colour card that had been inked with different sprays.  The colour looks a bit washed-out on here.  Better in real life.  The stamped words are a Suzanne Canon stamp.
I used a stamp from a SU stamp set called "New Wonders" for the card below.  I used a sparkly gelly roll pen on her hair, dress and pen nib, but sadly it doesn't show very well on here.  I have photos of it on my phone that show the sparkle better.  I think I colored her with Copics.

Below is another card using the same Tim Holtz cut and emboss folder for the butterfly, and another of Suzanne Canons awesome calligraphy stamps.

Below is a thing  made to hold and store my sponge dabbers.  I used some Velcro dots on the lid so I can attach the sponge pieces.  The handles sit in the bottom of the case.  Easy to remove the sponges as I need them, and the case (from my $2 shop) is also easy to store on a shelf.  Previously I had them sitting in a drawer, but this is way easier to find and use, and much neater and tidier!
Here's what the case looks like, closed, from the top, looking down at it.

A close up of one of my Daffodils.  I got to it before the Possums did this year!  You gotta be quick to beat them!

Below is "Lula-Belle Irene".  She is a new girl on the block.
Her owner, who shall remain nameless, has tricked her into swallowing a Flea Treatment pill, telling her it was "Cat Candy".
Lula-Belle Irene is furious, she hates those pills.  They taste like, well, something un-printable. She will get revenge.  She has vowed to shed her coat all over her owners new and very expensive shag pile rug, the one she imported from India. Lula-Belle Irene may even throw up a fur ball or two in her owners slippers, just as an extra 'gift'.
Cat's huh.
