It's GOT to Be Christmas, Right?!

Ok, here's what I have been doing in the last 24 hours! We have had (here in Auckland and most of New Zealand) THE most awful week weather-wise! Gee I hate winter! For the last week it has never stopped raining & I mean heavy rain! We've had continuous thunder & lightning, hail by the truck load & not forgetting the wind!! It all came as a surprise because up until then we had been having a very mild (dry!) winter! So I have felt like a caged lion all week, not being able to get out or go anywhere!! And did I mention how DARK it has been during the day?? I'm the sort that has to have light or I go NUTS! And did I also mention that I hate being alone in storms?!! So, all week I have been searching blogs & SCS looking for...Christmas card idea's & the following cards I what I came up with! So, how did I do?! Let me know what you think! I am SO grateful to everyone who has a blog & shares their awesome cards etc with us all. I am SO inspired by your work - THANK YOU to EVERYONE!! And THANK YOU to ALL of you who visit my blog, I hope you leave inspired, & come back soon! You guys ROCK!! :-)

Flowers Again!

Oh, I had FUN making this! It's a little pocket card thingie, that you can slip little reminder notes or 'love notes' in! Or any kind of note you like! I cut a piece of green card out & folded up the bottom to make a 'pocket'. Then I stuck a piece of hot pink card across the top & rounded the corners. I added tiny green brads to the sides to hold the 'pocket' closed. I found a piece of scrap paper that matched & added that to the bottom of the pocket. I added a hot pink tab (SU tab punch) and stamped the tab with a Totally Tab stamp. I added some paper flowers to the pocket & it was finished!! And it really didn't take too long! I LOVE making this type of thing! :-) Oh yes, I also added some stick on pearls to the flowers! (Gotta love them pearls girls!)

Life Is About Sharing Smiles

How true! Life is about sharing smiles, have you noticed if you smile at a stranger, they seem surprised but none the less they smile back! A smile crosses all language barriers in my book!
The white background stamp is from SU - sadly it isn't showing up too brightly on here. Anyway, the white circles are nesties, then the white flower with a button in the center. Two red daisy brads & a strip of white card & this was finished!

Snowflake Dog

I used my snowflake embossing folder to emboss the white card, which I then stuck onto the red card!
I used my circle nesties for the circles (on the front & sides of card). I stamped the dog (Newton, from Hero Arts) & just coloured his tongue red! I added some fuzzy red ribbon stuff under the dog & glued two red gems to the white circles on the side of the card. Geez Louise he was easy to do!

Playful In Pink!

Oh I LOVE this card! I got the idea from Lorraine, please check her blog, she has some very inspiring cards!
Two things you can't see, are, the very pale white snowflakes on the pink card, & Mr. Snowman has a piece of clear plastic over him!
I first stamped the white snowflakes - you can see them in 'real life'! I then used my nesties to punch out the scallop square. I stamped Playful Snowman (Whipper Snapper) on white card, & stuck the plastic window over him after I had coloured him using my copics. Then I stuck this to the pink card (on the inside of the pink card. I added some blue ribbon & a pink paper flower & a small button thing that says, "Wish". Oh yes, the snowman is covered in crystal Kindy Glitz - he's very 'sparkly'! (If you see him in your garden, please give him a wave!!)

It Must Be Christmas

I used some pale blue card & silver card for the backgrounds on here. I used the snowflake embossing folder on the silver card & stuck it to the blue card. I stamped the Playful Snowman (Whipper Snapper Designs) on the white circle & stuck this to the pale blue scallop (nesties) card.
I added some blue ribbon across the bottom & lastly stuck some pale pink paper flowers to the ribbon.

Not the Spice Girls but Spice Jars!

I bought these little spice jars at a school fair sometime ago for abut 50 cents! I finally got round to decorating them the other night! I used my nesties to cut out the scallop circles for the top of the lids. Then I used paper flowers & stick-on pearls & put them in the center of each scallop circle. I used Bazzill card (my favourite!) on the lids as well as for the strips around each jar. They were quick to make, not a lot to do! The little black centers in some of the flowers are a small sunshine sort of punch. I already had those punched out & thought, "they will do"! And they did! I had fun with these & will keep them in the kitchen. Heaven knows what I will put in them?! Any suggestions, besides spices?! Now I want more jars to decorate! Off to the op shop I think!

Circles & Daisies!

I cut out some circles using my nesties, in various colours, then stamped half a daisy stamp (also in various ink colours to match the card). Then I glued a tiny gem to the center of each daisy & stuck the circles to the black card, then on to the yellow card. (I must use more YELLOW!) I added tiny yellow flower brads to the corners of the black card.

Funky Fridge Magnets!

I made 12 of these the other night - yes I am MAD! I made two of each colour. I used my scallop & plain circle nesties & I also punched out (With my nesties of course!) an extra white scallop of heavy duty card to put on the back to make the magnets more solid. The stamp is from "Imaginations" & is one of my fave stamps! These measure about 3 1/2 inches in diameter. I had fun making these & think I will make some Christmas ones to put in my Christmas cards this year!

Orange Bling!

To make this card (it was quick!) I stuck some orange dotted ribbon across the center of the white card. I then punched out some orange daisies & some pale apricot flowers using my flower punches. I also punched out some green petals which I have used for leaves. I glued them to the orange dotted ribbon & added some orange & diamond coloured gems. Lastly I stamped "With Love", which is a Heidi Grace stamp. I also added a diamond coloured gem to the dot over the "i". Card finished!

A Little "Pig-me-up"!

Thanks to Lorraine for this awesome little piggy! Please check out her blog because she has some great things there! He is made using the round tab punch, a circle nestie or punch, a heart punch & a small oval nestie (or punch). They are easy to make & don't take very long at all! I made six this morning while having breakfast! I drew his nostrils using a pink pen & glued on his eyes. He even has a curly tail on his behind! I hope you can see how to assemble him from the photo's above?! I cut the hearts in half - one for each ear & discarded the piece I didn't use. Oh yes, I stamped his wings with a stamp I had, but you could leave the wings out, or cut them out of card if you wanted to. I made one into a fridge magnet by putting a strip of self adhesive magnet on the back of him - very cute! It will remind me not to "pig-out" every time I open the fridge?!!

"Friends"

The words on this card are from www.kiwistamping.co.nz check out their website for some neat stamps etc!
I used my Floral Fantasy embossing folder & made the little pocket using some pale pink vellum.
I stamped the words onto some lilac card & made a tag using the round tab punch from SU. I stamped the flower & lines using the Totally Tabs stamp set, also from SU.
I added some sparkly pink lines around the edge of the card & added some paper flowers in the bottom right hand corner. Oh yes, I also added some stick on pearls! Oh bliss oh joy, I love to make easy peasy cards!! (Especially as I am cranky & still have a sore hip...but that's another story...)

Happy Birthday

My scanner has gremlins in it. This LILAC card on here is actually HOT PINK!! And so is the lilac strip at the bottom of the card!!!
I'll have the check with "the mechanic" about this, it's weird!
Anyhow, I did this whole card using the cuttlebug folders. The parcel is done using the Tag Team Presents set. You use the die to cut the present then the embossing folders that come with it. I used the Happy Birthday one on here. I embossed the black card using the Tiny Bubbles folder. Made in a matter of minutes! I added some Kindy Glitz & the card was finished!

Love & Warm Fuzzies

I made this card using all different tiny flower stamps. Some of them I have just stamped the flower head, not the stalk. I added some paper flowers & stick on pearls & a bit of Kindy Glitz.
I've used Eggplant (Brilliance) ink, pale lilac & pink for the flowers & Olive Green for the foliage. Not a perfect circle but I am happy with the results!
I had fun, that's the main thing!

Tall Flowers

This is a magnetic book mark I made. I used two long strips of card folded in half & stuck together, (with tape) with a small strip of magnet inside each layer. When it is folded over a page it holds the page - even if you drop the book! I stamped in a piece of white card which I glued to the wine coloured card. I added a lilac tab & punched a small hole in the top & threaded some gold cord through it. I punched out some tiny lilac flowers & stuck them to the plant. The bookmark (folded) is almost 6 inches log.

The Purple Hat Ladies!

I made these hats & boa feathers to wear to the craft show last Friday! The hats are made of circles all glued on top of each other. I used my circle nesties to make them - so quick & easy! I made three of them, & I had SO many compliments & comments about them! It was FUN! The hat looks white here but it really is bright purple! Almost the same colour as the feathers!
My cat LOVES the feathers & I was lucky mine actually made it out the door in one piece that day!
I always said I'd have purple hair when I was 50...I got a purple hat feathers instead...!!!

The Tide...

The card I used here is actually a pale cream colour. I sponged the card with words on in a pale blue. I like this verse & it could be used for many different occasions.
I've added a paper flower in a pale cream colour as well as some stick on pearls & tiny punched out daisies in pale blue. The cream card has embossed lines across it.

Mosaic Card

This is an easy card to make, in spite of how it looks! The first photo is of the card open - the ribbon is threaded through the hole on the front of the card, & also on the back of the card. The same holes/half circle are punched on the front & back of the card. The card with the stamped images is cut & folded like an open pocket - the left & right side of the card are open. You thread the ribbon so that it holds the inside card from falling out when you pull it. A FUN card to make, thanks to my friend ROBYN who does NOT use the Internet - yet!!

Flower Power

The flowers are a Penny Black stamp & the lace oval stamp is from www.kiwistamping.co.nz
I stamped & coloured the flowers using my copics. Then I masked the image & stamped the oval & one side of the flowers & cut that out & used sponge tape to stick it to the bottom image. I also used a thick clear gloss on the flowers as well as Kindy Glitz.

Dog-gone It!

Oops, this is a but fuzzy as I forgot to run it through photo shop first! Next time!
It's been a little while since I have posted anything, but I am back now!
I got this dog stamp (Rubbadubbado) at the craft show last Friday.
We were lucky to get there as one of our connecting buses just didn't arrive & we had to get another one which only took us part of the way. Then onto ANOTHER bus, & thanks to the very kind driver who refused to take any fare & very kindly dropped us off as close as possible to the craft show! Very frustrating waiting for buses that don't turn up, & your stuck in the city wondering what to do or which bus to get, especially when there is NO information kiosk to go to!! Wake up MAXX!!!
Anyhow, we DID get there (eventually) & we DID have a great time! And thanks to KAY from Stampzone who dropped us at the bus station coming home again!!
I have more cards to post but have yet to upload them. My hip is still giving me some pain & it makes me a bit "cranky"!! :-(
Right, onto the nest card...
PS, the dog has a tiny butterfly on his nose!
