"Glad" Press 'n Seal Technique

The photos above and below show what the Glad Press 'n Seal looks like in the box.  I got mine from Countdown for $6.29.  (For those Kiwi's who are reading this!)
I die cut some flowers and laid them on the card I was making but wasn't sure which way I wanted to display them on the card.  So I lay a piece of Glad Press 'n Seal and played around with it until I had the flowers placed where I wanted them.  (Photo below)

I then carefully lifted the GPS off the card, making sure the die cut flowers stuck to it.
At this point, the die cut flowers are upside down on the GPS, so I dotted some spots of glue onto each flower.
Once I had the glue on the flowers, I carefully turned over the GPS with the flowers on and laced it on the card where I wanted it.  I pressed the flowers down to they stuck to the card, and then carefully peeled the GPS back so it came off the flowers which were now stuck to the card.  There are multiple videos on this technique on you tube.
Below is the finished card!  With GPS you can try different placements of die cuts you want to add to your card, before actually gluing them permanently and THEN discovering they are not in the right place:-(
If you enlarge the photo below, you can see I added some sequins to the card to finish it off.  "Romeo-Valentino" managed to get in on the photo as well!

Tea Tower and How To Re-Purpose An Empty Toaster Box!

I made this Tea Tower this morning.  It's not perfect, but I like how it turned out!  I used a video from Connie's blog, simplysimplestamping.com to make the box.  Her video is the best I have seen and once I had my card measured it was easy to make.  However, during the process of making this, I discovered that SU card stock in NZ is NOT the same size as in the USA.  Our SU card stock is smaller, so I had to use some 12x12 card I had which wasn't SU.  Below is the lid of the Tea Tower Box.
And below is how to re-purpose and empty toaster box!  Romeo decided it would make a great bed for him to sleep in - there went my idea of using it for card scraps!

As you can see...
 He made himself comfortable!

I was very surprised he fit in there as it is not a larger box...and he IS a large cat!
And here is Bella in her bed - she likes a bit more room than Romeo does! She was outside enjoying the sun:-)

New Cards.

It's been a busy week, but I managed to squeeze in some crafting time and make these three cards!  I water coloured the horse with some water colour pens.  I rubbed the pen onto an old dinner plate and then used my aqua brush to pick up some of the ink and then paint the horse.
My family bred and raised "Paint" horses when I was younger, so it was not a hard choice of how I was going to color the horse!
The cowboy hat and horseshoe are both cut from some very shiny gold card.  I added some tiny gems to the hat and the horseshoe to give them some sparkle.  Myself and my two siblings rode Western style, so the hat was a must to add to the card!
For the balloon card above, I water coloured the background first by by dabbing my aqua brush onto a stamp pad then swooshing it across the card.  I used random Stampin' Up! stamp pads.  Those were the four colours that were on my desk at the time.  I then cut out the balloons and carefully glued them onto the coloured card. I layered it onto some aqua coloured card and lastly onto a piece of white card.  I stamped and die cut cut the words and popped it up using some sponge tape.  The aqua card is also popped up using some sponge squares.  It just gives the card a bit of depth or dimension, rather than being "flat".
The card below was a fun card to make and color!  I've had this stamp for a few months and this is the first time I have used it!  I thought it was time I inked it up!  Some of the animals have glitter and/or tiny gems on their bows or collars.  Such a fun card to create:-)
I have some other stuff on the go, but have yet to finish it.  I will publish them when they are done.

Some Good News - Thank You Lawn Fawn!!

I emailed Lawn Fawn yesterday, telling them I had purchased one of their ink pads, (Black Licorice) and that it was not giving a good dark impression when I stamped with it.  I also told them that I had NOT purchased it from them.
Well, when I checked my emails this morning, there is a very cheery email from them saying if I send them a photo of the ink pad and my address, they will send me a free re-inker for the ink pad!!
Wow, what an amazing gesture:-) Thank you Lawn Fawn!! Such a different attitude to Craftie Cafe which is where I purchased the ink pad.
It's made my day!

Disappointing

I recently purchased two black ink pads from a craft store in Australia. One ink pad is from Lawn Fawn, and the other one is from My Favorite Things.  Both are Black Licorice colours.  I ordered these because I had read online that they were both really nice dark black colours, which is what I wanted.
Neither of these ink pads are available here in New Zealand.
I got the ink pads yesterday and tried them as soon as they arrived.
When I stamped them, the inked images look faded and are not at all the nice dark black colour I presumed they would be.
I have emailed back and forth today, with the store I bought them from and have been told these ink pads are for layering and do not give a nice dark image when stamped.
I emailed both companies, MFT and Lawn Fawn.  MFT said the ink pads ARE a nice crisp dark black colour.
So I have wasted over $16 for two ink pads that are useless and I can't stamp with them.
I am really disappointed with Craftie Cafe in Australia and will not purchase from them again.
I am now trying to find where I can buy ink re-fills for both these ink pads.
I have other black dye based ink pads, as well as coloured ones, and they all give a nice dark impression when stamped.  Craftie Cafe said the dye based inks do not give a dark impression.
So that is my day so far.  I am not happy at all:-(
So, what is YOUR choice of black ink pads and which ones give a nice dark impression??
All my SU ink pads give a nice deep coloured impression, and guess what??  They are dye based!  Below is the images I stamped.  The Versafine is a stamp pad I have and yes, I know it is a pigment ink, so it gives a different impression.
Thanks for dropping by and listening to my rant!  Have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)
