"Impossible" Card and More Fairies!

This card is called the "Impossible" card and is cut from ONE piece of card!  Above is the front of the card and below is the back, where you can write a message on.
The card folds flat and fits in to the largest size envelope on the Envelope Punch Board.  To see how to make this card, go to https://mixedupcraft.com/2018/04/10/the-impossible-card/   There is also a great video you can watch.  I had fun making it!  Thanks to Sam and her amazing video and instructions!  I sat mesmerized watching your video!

Here is another light bulb card I made today.  Having so much fun with these cards!  I used some Nuvo Crystal Drops in clear on top of the bubbles to give the card some texture.
After a horrible wet and really windy day yesterday, we have the sun today:-)  I sat and watched in fascination as the neigbours tree bent and twisted in the wind, like a contortionist, thinking that any minute the rest of the tree is going to come down.  Surprisingly not a branch came down!  We were warned another storm was coming, and it certainly did.
Anyway, thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

A Light Bulb Moment!

Here's another "light bulb" card!  I've had this stamp for a few years now, and have used it on all kinds of cards.  It's a "Global Solutions" stamp, Seattle, WA.  The stamp is called "Girl Pointing At Star", 032C.  I know my friend Margaret has the same stamp because we  got the stamp at the same time.  So, to Margaret K, you can make this card too!
I ended up drawing the light bulb onto some scrap card and cutting around it.  I use this as template and draw around it onto white card, then stamp inside the light bulb.  It was much easier to have a pattern to draw around than it is to keep drawing a light bulb!  I have two templates, one with a cracked light bulb, and the other one is the entire light bulb.  I was just thinking...I might actually design 2 rubber stamps of  light bulbs, one whole and one cracked, then I won't have to keep tracing around the patterns I made!  Now THAT'S a 'light bulb' moment!!
Well, we are in for a horrible cold and wet weekend...I think I'll be inside drawing light bulbs, drinking lot's of hot chocolate and making cards!  Feel free to come and join me! Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

It's All Black and White!

I made this card this morning after seeing something similar on Pinterest.  I hand drew the light bulb first, then stamped the fairy, and the stars.  I added a few stars, and some extra tree branches.  So much fun!  I will be back with some other light bulb cards in the next few days!
Above and below is "Romeo-Valentino" asleep on my pillows on the bed!  He LOVES to sleep on the pillows as opposed to the bed!  He starts off by sleeping on the pillows, but some time int he night he moves over and sleeps on the same pillow that I am sleeping on!  There's not much room for both of us, but somehow we manage!  I think he must get cold because I wake up and he is kind of wrapped around my head!!  It's like wearing a "live" hat!!  He likes to be comfortable!
Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

More Pockets

I made some more of these little pockets last night.  I used some of the paint sample flowers I made recently, on top of each  pocket.
I was trying to find out who makes this stamp set. I discovered that it is made by a company called, "Clearly Besotted," and is called, "Scrumptious Script."  It is twice the price of the original one I saw on Trademe.  The company here in NZ that sells them is currently out of stock.  The one on Trademe was half that price.

Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-) 💜

Mini Pockets Using Envelope Maker Punch Board!

I've just finished making these little pockets, using my envelope punch board.  I will give you this measurements at the bottom of this post.  They were so much fun to make, and quick and easy!  And a good way to use up small scraps of paper!
Each pocket has it's own tag which fits nicely into the pocket.  I used double sided paper because I liked to have colour on the inside of the pockets as well as the outside.
I used white card for the tag inside because I wanted to stamp on it.
I added a small bow to each pocket once I had made it.
If you don't have any bows, you could leave the bow off.  It was just that I had bows in the right size, so I thought I may as well use them.
I've used two different SU stamp sets to stamp the sentiments.
The stitched circles are some dies I got recently.  The scalloped circle is a SU punch.
These were so much fun to make, and not difficult at all:-)  Here's the measurements:
  1. Cut a piece of DSP at 5x5 inches.
  2. Using your envelope punch board, punch and score at 2 inches.
  3. Turn your DSP and punch and score at 3 inches.
  4. Turn the DSP again and punch and score at 2 inches.
  5. Turn the DSP again and just punch at 3 inches.  Don't score this piece as it becomes the top of the pocket.  But don't worry too much if you do score the last bit, it doesn't really matter too much.
  6. Fold the 2 sides and bottom in, leaving the top piece open.  I used a large glue dot to hold the sides together, but double sided tape or glue will also work.

Below is the pocket you will end up with!  The pocket measures about 5 1/2 inches in height, and almost 2 1/4 inches wide.  Make a small tag to go inside the pocket.  I used a small tag die which just fit perfectly into the pockets!  Most of all...have FUN!!
Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Feelin' Foxy!

I was so excited that I finally have HOT water, that I got creative and made this card! I have the Fox Builder punch, and have the matching stamps on order.  So for this card I just used the punch to make Mr. Fox!  Because the floral square is on an angle, I placed the daisy's also on the same angle.  If you go from the top left hand orange daisy, to the yellow one on the right, then down to the lower left hand orange daisy and finally to the right hand lavender daisy, you will see the angles kind of match.  It looked way better than having the daisies all square.  Sometimes I like things that are a bit "different"!  Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Heart Card and I've Got Hot Water Again!!

Yes, it's true, I have FINALLY (after six long days) got my hot water back on!!!  I noticed it about half an hour ago.  So far it is only luke warm, so there will be no hot showers until later tonight!  Onto the card!  I saw a similar card on Pinterest and loosely copied the layout.  I have used my new stitched heart dies - the ones I am not too keen on because it has an indent piece when you cut it out.  I tried all kinds of things to stop getting the indent piece, card, paper, thin foam, but nothing worked.  So I thought, stuff it, I'm going to use the dies anyway!
Below is "Romeo-Valentino" sunbathing on the climbing tree!  He just loves the warm sun in the morning:-)
Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

New Dies and Still No Hot Water!!

These stitched dies, above and below, are sets I recently ordered from ebay.  The two dies above have eight nesting dies each, and the heart below has ten nesting dies.  The top two sets are fine, but the have a close look at the heart ones and you will see it has a funny piece of metal around the inside of most of the die.  This causes an indent mark when you cut it out.  I don't like it!!
You can see it better on the photo below.  I contacted the seller asking for a refund, which I promptly got.  As well as that, she said to keep the dies and don't send them back!  So they have ended up being free😊 I will find a way of using them without the indent appearing on my card.  Watch this space to see what I do!!
If you look at the heart die below, you can see it doesn't have the metal piece that makes the indent on your card.  These are my Nestabilities that I have had for years.
On a slightly different note, I am now into day five without hot water😬😬😬😬😬.
It is beyond a joke having to wash in a small hand basin every day, or to boil the kettle 25 times to fill up the bath with enough hot water to have a (very shallow) bath!!!!  I kid you not!! The latest update from Vector is, it will be fixed by Friday.  We will see!  My close neighbours are in the same predicament - we are sick of it😣😣😣.
Have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Sundays Card on Monday!

I made this cat card yesterday, Sunday, but didn't get around to posting it until today. It's quite sparkly IRL, but looks very 'dull' on here:-(  The "I 💗 U" is really sparkly too.  Believe me!  I'm not sure if I like this card or not, but here it is!
Well, I have since found out there are around 1,500 homes around here that either have no power and/or no hot water.  So I am not alone in having no hot water.  It shouldn't take Vector a week to fix it, this is 2018, not 1818.  Shame on you Vector.  Saturday is a long way off without a shower:-(
Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

No Hot Water

I noticed yesterday that my hot water was not exactly "hot", but didn't think too much about it until last night.  I went to wash the dishes and realized the "hot" water was not "hot" at all , but almost stone cold.  I figured it was a fuse that had blown and was going to fix it.  But no, my neighbour informs me that they don't have hot water either and it will be out until Saturday!!!  Vector, our Power people, have on their website that there is and 'issue' and it will take until Saturday to be fixed.  Hello???  This is 2018 not 1818, where's your back up system Vector???  Not good at all:-(

Wet and Wild!

Well we had yet another huge storm over night last night:-(  The weather is still wild, lot's of heavy rain and lots of gusting wind. The tree above is form another neighbour, they lost part of one of their trees. Luckily it fell away from their house.  My neighbours have been to look at their tree that fell on my place, but there is nothing they can do right now.  You can't hire an Arborist or a chainsaw anywhere.  Everyone is booked up for weeks, if not months.  I can hear chainsaws buzzing in every direction.  And that's been going on all week. The only good thing is, the temperature has gone back up and it s now warm and humid!  Oh, and very wet!  I have brilliant neighbours and told them to leave the tree until they can get their Arborist in, and hopefully by then, be getting  some dry weather.  The main thing is, no-one was injured and there's no damage to property.  We are ok😊!  But please, no more storms!  Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

Owl Card

I'm still not feeling well with a sore throat, so I'm not doing much crafting at the moment.  However I was inspired to make this quick and easy Owl card after seeing something similar on the internet!  Wow, talk about super quick and easy!  I just punched a circle of red card, and then cut into it with the same circle punch to make the ears.  I cut out a pink circle in the same size as the owl and then cut into it so I got the pink piece for his tummy. I embossed that piece using my Swiss Dots embossing folder.  For his feet I punched out the bottom piece of the SU Owl punch so I had a half circle with his feet attached.  I glued that to the back of the red circle for his feet.  More circles for his eyes and a red heart from another SU punch and he was pretty much ready to go!  As I said, a super quick card!  The word sentiment is from a "Crafters Companion" stamp set.  Oh, and I used some of my paint sample flowers I made recently.
We are still getting really strong wind at times, as well as very heavy rain over night.  There are still 17,000 homes without power 3 days after the storm and there are still tree's down as well as power lines down.  And I still haven't found the other pieces of the smashed bird bath.   My neighbours are coming over the weekend to chop up their fallen tree on my place, and it's going to take the whole weekend I think. We do have the sun, but OMG, it is COLD!  The temperature has dropped dramatically:-( It's winter clothes for me today!  Even the cats want woolly blankets at night, and sunny window ledges during the day!  Me too!
Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)

More Storm Photos

This is the public footpath outside.  It was a nightmare trying to walk up the road yesterday, tree branches and rubbish all over the place.
As well trying to get past the fallen tree branches, it was pouring with rain and the path was really slippery.  When I got to this bit below, I had no choice but to walk on the road.  It's a narrow two lane road right on a sharp bend.  Jot a safe place to walk.
The gutters were full of leaves and sticks and the water had just run over the top and down the footpath.
It wasn't a pretty sight at all!  So many trees down and so much rubbish.
This photo below is of a neighbours Oak tree outside her place.  Thankfully the branch fell away from her house and onto the grass.
I had a doctors appointment and had to walk there and back as I had somehow lost my bus card that morning:-(  I know it is in the house "somewhere", but for the life of me I cannot find it:-(  I have searched high and low and everywhere in between for it, but can't find it. I was forced to go and purchase another card and get the balance swapped over to the new card.  I had about $13 on the old card so that card has been cancelled and the balance has been put on the new card.  It cost me $10 for a new card and I had to put $5 on it because it takes up to ten days before the new balance shows up on it.  I was NOT a happy little vegemite!  The weather today is still really icy cold, and I am in winter clothes!  There's snow down to 800 meters not far from here which is why we are getting such a cold snap.  It went from Summer to Winter overnight when we had that storm.  Even my cats are feeling the cold and want their blankets on at night!  On top of that I have a sore throat and blocked nose, and aren't feeling too well.  I just want to go and get into my pajama's and my fluffy slippers...see you soon!

Auckland Hit By Massive Storm Over Night.

This is what's left of the neighbours tree after the storm!  t was one wild night for sure.  Wind gusts up to 14o km and hour and ran the was horizontal not vertical.  No power from 9 pm until 4.30 am the next morning.  The wind sounded like a jet plane taking at at close range.
Above is what is left of the bird bath.  I don't know where the rest of it is, but it isn't on my place!
My back porch roof has gone, and I found a large piece of it on the ramp at the front of the house.  It must have blown over the roof of the house.  Just thankful it didn't smash any windows on the way.
This is what's left of the neighbours tree.  I hope they take the whole tree down because it now has a lean on it and if it comes down it will ht my house or the neighbours house.  Part of the tree came down on my place about four years ago.
It's a big mess with leaves and branches everywhere.  Not sure if there's any damage to the garden shed.  The neighbours are coming on the weekend to chop the tree up and remove what's on my place.  Ill know more then.
Just as well the tree didn't fall any further the left of this photo above, because there is a house really close to the fence line.
I had to wait for about three hours to take these photos because it was still pouring with rain and the wind had not let up.  Not a good day to be outside!
It was a big tree, maybe three stories high originally.

Below, Bella-Rosa checks out what's left of the bird bath!  Not much!  Oh well, I'll get a new one!

I have just updated this with new photos, so it's now a bit jumbled!  My apologies!  We were not given any warning that the wind was going to be so severe, so no-one was prepared for what happened over night
We were hit by a massive storm  last night.  These photos  show my neighbours tree that has come down at the back of my place, and onto my garden shed.  We had winds up to 150 km an hour last night, heavy rain the was being blown horizontal, not vertical.  Power was out right across Auckland most of the night.  I lost power here at 9 pm last night and have no idea how long it was out for.  I was still awake after midnight and there was no power then.  I was able to use my laptop to play Solitaire on because it also runs on battery as well as power.  And it gave out some light as well.  There are tree's down all over the place, rubbish bins everywhere, roofs blown off houses, fallen trees blocking roads.  Its a real mess.  The wind was so strong last night the house was shaking - really scary stuff.  This is by far, the worst storm I have ever experienced.  No damage here, except for the neighbours tree coming down, the bird bath being smashed, a deck chair being blown off the porch and into the middle of the lawn, and my porch roof being demolished.  And it is COLD!  Still raining and still got a lot of very strong wind, but it has calmed down compared to last night.  Around 7 pm last night I had the foresight to fill up the thermos with boiling water.  I just knew the power was going to go off as it had been flickering on and off for some time.  So glad I did because while the storm raged and I played Solitaire on my laptop, I was able to have a cup of tea!!  So there I was in the dark, with a miners torch on my head, sipping hot tea and playing cards!
Thanks for dropping in, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)
