Spring!

I 'swiped' various coloured inkpads down a piece of white card to create the back ground for this card. I had made the background some time ago and cannot recall which ink pads I used - sorry! Then I stamped on of the Suzanne Canon stamps I have, on to the background. I punched out some tiny flowers using some coloured paper and stuck those to the card, as well as a couple of clear glass drops. I adhered the card top to a piece of black card stock, then on to a piece of very chunky glittery card. It made a loud crunch sound as I cut it, so I hope I haven't made the blade on my cutter blunt! Lastly I adhered this to another piece of black card stock. A quick and easy card to put together. Seeing as we are into Spring here, I thought it was the right time to post this card on here! We have also just gone on to Daylight Saving, which I am enjoying! I love having that extra hour of daylight in the evening. Although I slept in this morning - I blame it on my two cats for not waking me up an hour earlier, as they usually do! Maybe they too haven't adjusted to being an hour ahead yet! Anyway, this is my card for today. Hope you enjoy it! Thanks for dropping by! Have a SUNSHINE day! Remember to always be your authentic self, and shine bright each and every day!

A Card, A Hospital Visit and Something Funny!

I had another hospital stay recently. I'm back home and slowly getting my life back on track. The photo above was taken when I was still in the Emergency Department. They were giving me IV fluids because I was so dehydrated, as well as some other drugs I needed. The photo below is the funny one! Some of the medications are quite strong and make me a bit doo-lally. Looking at the signs on the door to my bathroom, I couldn't figure out what the last symbol was! I could figure out the male/female sign, but the last one I thought...was it a UFO taking off or landing?!! After some time I got it...it was the sign for the shower! With all the drugs I'd been given, things were not making much sense to me! Anyhow, I thought it was funny, and once I got it, I had a bit of a giggle to myself! Luckily I was in a private room, so no-one else was there to wonder why I was giggling. Thankfully, in spite of not being well and feeling like bleh, I still had my sense of humour!
The card below was inspired by one Eileen Godwin had made. The stamp is called "The Green Man", and is from Lavinia Stamps. It's a stamp I never thought I would buy, because I didn't like it. I had seen many cards made with it, but didn't like them. I didn't like how they had been coloured in. That was, until I saw Eileen's video. I first used red and orange Elements ink over the LS Stencil (Abstract), and then stamped 'The Green Man' over the top. Lastly stamping the two Hares, also LS stamps. I also stamped the Lavinia Stamps stamp, as Eileen had done. I really like how this card turned out, and am really surprised how much I like 'The Green Man' stamp! All the cards I had seen using him, I just didn't like. They had all coloured in TGM, and it just didn't look right. (To me, anyhow.) This was a quick card to create. I think I might do some more like this, using different colours and stencils for the background.

Some Information!

I bought these two stamps at a craft show last year. I had seen cards made using them, online before hand and was lucky to find them at the show. They had been die cut around the dotted shape and made into shaker cards. However, I couldn't find which die they had used to cut out the shape. The closest I could find was a set of Spellbinder ides, but they weren't quite the right shape. Feeling disappointed I couldn't make my Christmas cards with the stamps, I left the stamps sitting on my desk. Throughout the year, I kept searching for the die, an even contacted the company that sold the stamps. They were not able to help. This morning I had another go at finding the matching die. I found a different company in the UK  that sells these stamps, and sent them a message. Bingo! They replied back and gave me the name of the die! It is a Sue Wilson Die, called "Holly Lattice Frame" die, CED3125. Ok, so I now had the name of the die, but I needed to find where to buy it in NZ. I had no luck finding it here in NZ, but I did find it for sale in Australia. So I have just ordered it! Australia is just across the ditch as we say, so I should have the die in a week or so. Watch this space to see what I make! I sent a thank you note to the company in the UK who helped me. I have posted this incase there are others out there who are also looking for the matching die for these stamps. You never know! I always think I am the only
one searching for something, but there may e others looking for the same product.

I also have a new Lavinia Stamps stamp and stencil arriving soon. No cards to post today, I am feeling very low on energy today, and am having a 'quiet' day...in my pajama's! Yes! It's "International Pajama Day" today! (According to me!) Thanks for dropping by! Have a SUNSHINE day! Remember to always be your authentic self, and shine bright each and every day!

Shit Happens...!

This card looks way better in real life. The colours are much deeper, although still sort of pale. I used a Lavinia Stamps stencil for the background. I also used a LS heart shaped sticker stencil for the heart. I used a very small makeup rush to ink up just the inside edge of the heart. Although you can barely see it, the heart shape is colored with a soft pink Versafine Clair ink pad. The sentiment is two separate stamps from Inkylicious. For specific details of stamps, colours etc, leave me a message and I will reply. The flowers and heart have clear Wink of Stella on, so they are quite sparkly. The white card is a 5x5 inch size. This was fairly quick to create, and a kind of last minute idea. It was getting late when I decided to create this, and I am happy how it turned out! I hope you enjoy it! Ok, thanks for dropping by! Have a SUNSHINE day! Remember to always be your authentic self, and shine bright each and every day!

More Abstract Cards!

Both these cards were inspired by cards by Eileen Godwin. I really enjoy her abstract cards. There are some 'mistakes', however I am ok with that and had so much fun creating them! The tree stamp on the card above, it called Spirit Tree and it is one from the new Dream Witch LS collection. The Witch the card below, is called Hattie. Today is the perfect day to craft, here. It's wet and very windy and it's cold. I guess it's typical Spring weather...but I am not enjoying it! Roll on Summer so I can enjoy some hot weather and not have to wear so many layers of clothing! Ok, thanks for dropping by! Have a SUNSHINE day! Remember to always be your authentic self, and shine bright each and every day!

"Peace"

I made this card this morning, after being inspired by a card that Eileen Godwin had made. This card measures 8 by 4 1/2 inches. It's not perfect, however I am happy with how it turned out. I's a very simple uncluttered card, and I like that look. When it was finished, I layered it onto another piece of white card, and then onto some black card. I was never into abstract cards, until I discovered Eileen Godwin's work...then I was instantly hooked! The Christmas tree, and the word Peace, are both form Lavinia Stamps. I made the half circle and red .circle using circle stencils. The most challenging bit was getting those long lines in the right place, and making sure they were straight! Thanks for dropping by! Have a SUNSHINE day! Remember to always be your authentic self, and shine right each and every day!

A New Card Using Some of The New Lavinia Stamps!

Yay! here's is my first play with one of the new Witch stamps from the Dream Witch collection from Lavinia Stamps! This witch is called "Hattie," and here she is with the Flittermice mixing up a new potion! It's a good luck potion, and that means anyone looking at this is in for some good luck!   I wonder what other potions she will make next?! There is sparkle and glitz on here, but hard to see. This was a fun card to make! Ok, I want you to turn out your light to see the next photo........
Here (below) is "Hattie" with some magical lights! One on the end of her Magic Wand, and two in the bubbles in the Cauldron! How fun is that! Now before you say it, I couldn't put the lights in the Flittermice's eyes because the little metal bits on each light, were too wide. It would have meant the lights would have been beside the eyes, not "in" the eyes. Unfortunate, but hey, This just meant I had to get creative and find another way to use the lights. I'm happy with where the lights are and think it makes the card look Magical. It's a shame you can't see the glitter and sparkle. O here it just looks dull and 'flat'.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my creation! I have a(nother) sore throat and head cold at the moment, so not feeling the best, but at least I'm home and not in hospital! I had a busy day yesterday, I had to go and pick up my phone that had been fixed. And rememer...I hate tech stuff, grrr!
Well I was prepared for things to be a challenge as it was when I dropped the phone off to be fixed. However, it all went very well, no headaches, no rolling on the floor throwing a tantrum! It took maybe half an hour to get all my data back on my phone and I was outta there and on my way home! The guy that served me both times, was brilliant! So patient, and so knowledgeable. When the phone was all done I asked him if his manage was available to speak to. He pointed to another guy standing at the counter. I said to the manager how amazing and helpful the guy that had served me had been.  I also said  could have gone to a closer store, but because I'd had  bad service from the closer store, I had chosen to come to this one. I then thanked him and said to give this guy (who had served me) a pay rise! The two times I had dealt with the guy that had served me it was such a great experience...except when the tech stuff was beyond my understanding and I rolled on the floor throwing a tantrum! Anyway, I have my phone ack and it is working fine again. All done free of charge. No more tech stuff to deal with, yay!
Ok, thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day! Remember to always be your authentic self, and shine bright each and every day!

Lavinia Stamps "The Dream Witch" Stamps!

UPDATE! I 'forgot" to add the photo of the Flittermice, and the Cauldron! Sorry for any confusion! Above and below are some of the new Witch stamps. The set above is a smaller version of the same stamps below.

Above are two new tree stamps, Spirit Trees.

A haunted house and a witchy verse stamp above, and below are the Flittermice, as well as a cauldron and bubbles, and some swirly smoke. Below that are some new cat stamps in two sizes. As I use each stamp I will give you the name.

Just a quick post to show you the new stamps!

... Here It Is!! New Lavinia Stamps Plus Card!

So, remember when I created this 'half a card?! This was the beginning of the card below. It's actually not blue, but purple. The mobile phone I took thee photos with is not mine, it's a loan phone while mine is being fixed. It's an old very well used phone and I think that's why the colours aren't coming out right.
So without further ado, below is the finished card! All of the stamps, except for the corer stamp, are a few of the new "The Dream Witch" stamps from Lavinia Stamps! Did anyone guess the theme? I left clues in my last 3-4 posts. There's quite a bit of glitter on the card - which you really can't see. The cats are called "Rune" and "Jinx". The Bats aren't Bats, they're called "Flittermice! (Tracey Dutton owner and artist of Lavinia Stamps names her stamps herself. I like the name Flittermice! The card didn't turn out quite how I imagined it, but I'm happy with it. I made the fog with a white Posca pen and an Aqua brush. (You can also use a wet paint brush.) Scribble or dot on the Posca pen, then wet it with the Aqua brush or wet paint brush and swish it around to create the fog. Dab it with a paper towel to dry excess water. This was the first time I have used this technique, so I am still learning! More cards to come soon...!

Thanks for dropping by! Have a SUNSHINE day! Remember to always be your authentic self, and shine bright each and every day!

Woohoo!!

They're here! Bang on mid-day they landed on my desk! Have you been checking my posts for clues? If so, you may have guessed what the theme is! I'm just having lunch and hope to have the finished card later today. Are you excited?! I know I am! Check back later and see the finished card...it's full of Hocus Pocus!

Thanks for dropping by! Have a SUNSHINE day! Remember to always be your authentic self and shine bright each and every day!

Today is the Day!

So my new stamps are 'with courier for delivery,' which means I will have them sometime today. At the time of writing this, here in NZ it is 6.45 am Monday. Hopefully by late afternoon (here), my stamps will have arrived! So having said that, here is the last update on the background I have been making in preparation for the new stamps! It's all very bewitching, and a  little spellbinding...!

A Funny Photo and A Card!

Thanks to Lorraine, I am able to post these 2 photo's. I emailed them to myself, then saved them onto my photo program, edited them and bingo here they are on my blog! So thank you Lorraine! So the top photo of Romeo is the funny one! I caught him having a wash, with his tongue poking out!
The photo below is one I made this morning, after watching a short video by Jo Rice. She used some of the 'new' stamps - the same ones that I have coming next week. I have used all Lavinia Stamps and cardstock. I just wish I hadn't added the green under the Pixy Houses. hindsight is great, I just with it was foresight!
I had an email this morning saying my new stamps are at the airport waiting to be scanned through. So I am hoping they are here on my desk some time next week! Watch this space... I don't want to 'jinx' it, but I hope you will find my news stamps rather 'spellbinding'!
Ok, thanks for dropping by! Have a SUNSHINE day! Remember to always be your authentic self, and shine bright each and every day!

Half a Card?!

This is the 'beginning' of a new card I am making. Ok, so it's not much at the moment, and looks a little bit rough. But all will be revealed as if by Magic eventually! First of all, to give some perspective, the card measures 8 1/4inches in length by 4 inches.  This is as far as I can go with it, until my new stamps arrive. They are in the country, having arrived from overseas. I'm waiting on them to be scanned through the airport, then they will go to my local courier and finally delivered to me! It's a process and takes time. It's all very bewitching, and a little bit of Hocus Pocus thrown in, and I am looking forward to them arriving!
On to some "tech" stuff. I hate it.  With a vengeance. However, when my mobile phone is fixed, and I go and collect it...I have to change all my passwords back to what they were originally. Did I mention I HATE tech stuff?? I have to get the staff at the shop to transfer my info back onto the sim card for my own phone, and it took 2 hours to get it sorted onto the loan phone. I am seriously NOT looking forward to it at all.
This time I will make sure I have taken painkillers before hand, have my water bottle and food with me, and I will ask for a chair to sit on while they get my phone sorted. The loan phone is rubbish. Talk about s-l-o-w. I just found out I cannot download any photos I have taken with it, because it's an older model than my own phone. That also means I have to use my proper camera to take any photo's want on my blog, such as the one above. No big deal, but for my cards I make I prefer to use my mobile as it is quicker to use and then upload them to my blog. I have a funny photo that I took of Romeo, using the mobile, but I can't download it. Bummer. So many tech issues testing my patience! Did I mention how much I HATE tech stuff....?! Ok, thanks for dropping by! Have a SUNSHINE day! Remember to always be your authentic self, and shine bright each and every day!

A Quick Update!

I don't have any new cards to post at the moment. I've been busy trying to fix my printer. Less than two years old, it conked out. Just stopped printing. I had someone in to try and fix it, but after four hours of trying, it just refused to print. So then I had to by a new one. Got that set up, only to discover it was on the "letter" setting, which is why it wasn't printing the bottom lines on the page. Changed the settings to A4 and bingo, it works fine! The next day I had to go an buy new ink cartridges for it, because the printer only came with the bare minimum of ink, and I didn't want to run out mid print.
As well as tech issues, I had to have blood taken. I went twice to one lab and both times they weren't able to find a vein. I left there with bruises up and down my arms and not feeling happy. I am not a pincushion. Days later I went to a different blood lab, (fingers crossed!) and bingo, they found a vein right away and got the blood they needed. And guess what?! No bruise at all - yes, I was happy about that!
So now I am waiting for the results to find out if I need to see a Rheumatologist or not. This is to do with the pain I have (and still am) been experiencing. My GP isn't sure if it was from a medication I was taking or not. So I have my fingers crossed that it isn't anything other than the medication.  On top of all that drama, my new, less than five months old mobile phone has been really difficult to turn on/off. So I took it back to where it was purchased from. Well! Talk about dramas! I had to leave it with them, and in the meantime they have loaned me a phone to use. I wanted all my data taken off my phone and put on to the loan phone. It took ages to transfer it over, so we left it there and went and did some shopping. They had said to come back in half an hour, which we did. But guess what?! When we got back to the shop, it hadn't been done correctly, so we had to wait some more...! By now I was in pain and due to take painkillers, but had forgotten my water bottle. Then I had change passwords so I could get into the loan phone. Well it became very obvious the loan phone had been very well used as it was soooo slow and kept refusing the passwords. By now I was ready to roll on the floor and throw a tantrum!! We had been there for around 2 hours getting things sorted. Finally we left and came home. However, when I went to get into my emails and blog this morning, on my  laptop, of course, I had changed the passwords, so that took some sorting out as well! I think I have had enough of technology for now! So, no cards this post, but some cute photo 's of Wookie rolling around on my path one sunny day! She flirts with the camera and is such a poser. The first photo below, is of my neighbours  Magnolia tree. It's just gorgeous at this time of year.
These next few photo's are of  Wookie - officially my neighbours cat, but she chooses to live here with me because her real owners have dogs and she doesn't like them. Long story! P.S. I have some new stamps coming...I wonder witch ones they are??!

Ok, thanks for dropping in! Have a SUNSHINE day! Remember to always be your authentic self, and shine bright each and every day!
