I Scammed A Scammer!

There I was minding my own business when the phone rang.  I answered it and I hear a male (Indian) voice ask if this was Mrs. so and so.  "No," says me, "she doesn't live here." Male Indian voice carries on and says that XYZ phone company (who I am not with) has been trying to get hold of me for the last week, and they are going to disconnect my internet. (Yawn, I've heard it all before...)  Male Indian voice then says to me could I check the lights on my modem...so I 'pretend' to do this.  Then he asks me to check some other things, so once again I make some fake background noises (tapping a pen on the table to replicate me pressing laptop keys...I am not stupid!)  Male Indian voice asks how many people use this internet line...I tell him "oh about 5 or six.." and he asks me to type in something...more fake pen tapping...then male Indian voice asks me what can I see on the laptop.

To his utter shock I tell him I can see HIM, and ALL the other male Indians talking to others in the background, on my screen.  I went on to describe what I could see (fake again) and then male Indian voice finally says, "Ma'am, you are a "beeping beep" and he hung up.  How rude, I was just getting the hang of things.   Oh well, at least he had the decency to call me Ma'am"! All this time I was  in another room and couldn't even SEE my laptop!  So yeah...I scammed a scammer...maybe I have a bit of "Snarky Cat" in me...?

"Bert" and "Ernie"

This is "Bert" (above).  He's balancing on a tree branch, and about to test his wings.  He got them for Halloween.   By the look on his face, it's obvious he has been naughty...can't talk about that right now...
Below is "Ernie", and he is over all this Covid stuff.  He's in isolation and has had enough (haven't we all).  He wants to 'escape' and has somehow managed to stack the rubbish bin on top of his suitcase...I wonder what's inside the case...can't talk about that right now...

I Heart Cats!

I used a new die from Scrapbook.com for this little hanger.  The die is called "Heartfelt Wishes".  I will add a piece of red ribbon so it can be hung up.  The words are from "Taylored Expressions."  The cat is from a "Stampin' Up!" set called "C is For Cat".  I used my scan n cut machine to cut the cat out.  The hanger measures about 4 x 3 1/4 inches in size.  Great gifts for posting in a standard size envelope!
Yes. I have some "Snarky's" on my desk, just waiting to be finished off...maybe later...!

Scammer Aimee Hall Update

So I went to my local Police Station today, with all the info about "The Scammer" who scammed me. The Police copied all the messages I had. I had printed everything out and I also had a photo of her, although her photo is a fake one.

My bank had said they could open a dispute but it would cost me $40 and they weren't sure I would get my money back from "The Scammer."  They advised me to take the info I had to the Police.

I have to say, the Police were very thorough and went through everything with me.  I spent over an hour there getting things sorted.  They have photo copied all my info I had, but I don't know if they will be able to catch her or not.  If she has scammed multiple people, the deposits into her account will show up and this way the Police may be able to get her.

So that's where I am up to at the moment.  I have let it go and it's in the hands of the Police now.

Thanks for dropping by - I do have some cards and other stuff to post, but that will be tomorrow now!

Mr "Happy" Snarky!

OMG!!  Two cards in one day!! Oh how I wish the sparkly tree's and lights were showing their true 'sparkle' on here.  Sadly they are not.  And "Milton", Mr. 'Happy Snarky', is not at all happy. He hates Christmas. Santa's reindeer left 'chocolate raisins' all over his floor, trampled on his vege garden and ate all his carrots.  And Santa, well he blocked the chimney with his over sized butt and left soot everywhere.  So no, "Milton" is not a happy little vegemite at all.  Christmas can be stressful...

No Escape!

So it's been an 'interesting' week or two.  First of all I had a head cold which kept me off my feet with not much inspiration to create.
And then there was the issue of being scammed by some sad, pathetic, and cursed internet Troll.  That's all behind me now. So my cold has gone and I didn't end up in hospital, and that was a big relief. And... my creativity is back! This card has not photographed well.  It's a lot brighter than it shows on here.  And it has lot's of sparkly things on it!  Oh well can't change it.
As you can see, "Bob" Snarky has seen a mouse...in his mind it's a HUGE rat...shoulda gone to Spec Savers "Bob"...
The rubbish bin has some clear Nuvo Drops on, as do "Bob's" eyes, and the mouse.
I warmed the bottle of clear Nuvo Drops in a glass of fairly hot but not too hot water for a few minutes before I used it on his eyes.  Once it dried overnight, the Nuvo Drops 'cracked', which is exactly what I had hoped for.  This is because when I applied the Drops they were warm, and it was very cold overnight, which makes it 'crack'.  No, "Bob" is not ON crack, he's just a little 'cracked!'
So that's my first card for today...welcome back!

Scammed.

Just an update to my Scammer post below.  It turns out I have been scammed.  The lady in the photo below is NOT the scammer, it's a fake photo of someone else.

Aimee Hall, if that is her real name, is now on the Scammer Check NZ FB page, and her bank details are there as well.  She has closed her FB page as well.  I have opened up a dispute with my bank (same bank as the scammer) so we'll see what happens.  I have copies of all my messages, as well as he scammers, saved, if the bank needs to see them.  Yes I am disappointed that I have been scammed, and I am also disappointed that I did not get the stamp set I am looking for:-(  It's a set I really want.  No art work...yet, but it's coming!  Thanks for dropping by and following me on this scammer journey!  Have a SUNSHINE day!  Remember to always be your authentic self, and shine bright each and every day:-)

Have I Been Scammed?? YES I have!!

UPDATE # 2:  So it appears that I have been scammed by Aimee Hall. Nothing has arrived from her. In spite of asking her many times to give me the tracking number and to tell me when the stamps were posted, she has ignored me.  The last message I got from her was that the stamps had been sent to me.

So now I have put her photo and name and bank details on the Scammer Check NZ Face Book page warning others of her scamming.  It's all fully legal.  While it's disappointing and I have lost my $50, I am not letting it ruin my day.  Her behaviour is not MY problem.  I am not accountable for someone else's behaviour.  This is all about HER, not me. So I AM still looking for the stamp set below.

Disregard this update here... UPDATE:  I just got a message from her saying, "All sent hun..."  I hope she's telling me the truth...  if the stamp set arrives I will delete this entire post.

I have been looking to buy this stamp set, and had advertised for it on Face Book Market Place.  This lady, below, supposedly Aimee Hall from Christchurch, replied that she had a set of the stamps that she would sell me for a $50 including tracked postage.  She gave me her bank account number and I did the deposit.  We are both with the same bank, so the deposit showed up in her account right away.  (This was last Tuesday 29th June)
She thanked me for the prompt payment.  Two days later I messaged her and asked for the tracking number and asked could she let me know when she had posted it.
So far she has not replied to my messages.  I have now sent two messages to her and sadly, she is not replying.
I don't know what is going on and feel like I may have been scammed.  I have reported her to Face Book and am waiting to hear from them.  It's really not polite to ignore someone when they message you.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that the stamps do arrive.
She is in the South Island and I am in the North Island and I know postage is slow between the two Islands, but she needs to reply to my messages.
I am trying to hold on to the belief that she has sent them, but I really don't know.
I can check with my bank tomorrow and tell them the story, but I don't know that there is much they can do once the payment from me has gone through.
Feeling disappointed, but hoping for the best.
