Snarky Cats and The Moon!

I took the photo of the moon a few days ago.  I was sitting in my garden one evening and thought I would take a shot of the moon. Not a full moon - that's tomorrow night - but it still looks good to me!   I like how you can see little bits of it kind of 3D.  I'll take more photos tomorrow night as long as it's a clear sky.
These below are some more of my Snarky Cats stamps - gotta love them!  They just make me smile, and those sayings are just as funny!  These two (above and below) cats are both from the Halloween Snarky Cats stamp sets.)
On the card below, I hand drew the face mask then cut it out and attached it to the card using sponge tape.  This Snarky Cat is from a different set, not sure which one.  I started on a piece of white card stock.  I hand cut the spikey shape from some scrap card and placed it on the card.  Then I used my brushes to put some colour on the card, leaving the center of the card, white.  I then stamped and coloured the cat and added some sequins.  His eyes have some clear Nuvo Drops on to make them stand out.  I printed out the words on my printer and cut them out and added them to the card.  Looks much better in reality!

Snarky Cats Fun Time!

For these first two cards (above and below), I stamped on glossy card.  I love the top card as it came out better than I had imagined!  The knife, fork, spoon and cup are all dies from an SU stamp set called "A Nice Cuppa." On both of these cards, I used various sprays and inks to make the backgrounds.    The cats were stamped and hand cut out and coloured before I attached them to the cards using sponge tape.  These were heaps of fun to make!  The wings on the cat below are die cut from some vellum, and have some clear Nuvo drops on them which as made them curl.  I knew this would happen which is why I added it.  I wanted the wings to kind of warp, to match the overall feel of the card.  The colours on these cards is much nicer in reallife.

These three round cards have some Christmas sayings on them.  I made the backgrounds using some stencils and paste to give it some dimension.  Hard to see on here:-(
These two cards(below) were made on some water colour card.  I randomly embossed some snowflakes in white, first.  Then I spritzed the card with water, and added some pink, gold and blue powders on top.  I blotted some of the ink up as I only wanted a fairly light colouring on the card.  The word "Joy" is an SU die from the Wondrous Wreath stamp/die set. II layered the sparkly pink 'Joy" on to two layers of cream coloured card to try to give it some dimension.  "Dimension" is often hard to photograph, so this isn't showing as it really looks.  Oh well!
This photo below, is a book mark.  It was an off cut of the above card, so it was turned in to a book mark!
And here, below, is "Romeo-Valentino" lying on my desk, holding onto the little blue basket that holds crafty bits and pieces!  Why was he holding on to it?  Well that's a good question!  I have no idea!  I hope he didn't chew on my brushes...

Tim Holtz Snarky Cats!

Here are two more of my 'Snarky Cats' cards! They are so funny and the sayings match their characters perfectly!  The top card is another layered card, while the one below has been stamped straight on to a white card.  I have two more (different) Snarky Cats stamp sets on their way, and I can't wait until they arrive!  The tiny strings of Christmas lights are some I bought in a sale a few years ago.  I think they cost me about 20 cents for a packet.  Each packet has four strings of lights, so I really hit the jackpot when I got those!

Snarky Cats and A Real Cat!

I'm still working on my Snarky Cats!  I love the look on their faces, as well as the sarcastic sayings!  Below is a circle card with one of the Snarky Cats on.  He is tangled in some Christmas lights!  Art imitating real life here!
Below is another layered card I made.  He has managed to get tangled in some Christmas lights as well!  I used a heavy cardstock for the base card and covered it in some wood grain paper.  I sponged some SU Artichoke ink around the edges.  I cut out some squares of heavy cardstock in different sizes, and covered each one with different patterned paper.  I then tied each 'gift' with silver cord - this was the hardest part of the card:-(  I stamped and cut out the cat and added some colour to him.  I arranged each 'gift' and adhered them to the base card with sponge tape.  I added glitter to the entire card and then stamped and cut out the words and stuck that to the card.
Below is a partial close up so you can see the details of the cat with the lights.  These cards take me a few hours to make because there are so many elements to the card, and I have to wait for the glitter to dry before going on to the next bit of the card.  However, in spite of that, I get the most enjoyment from making these cards, and they never fail to make me laugh!
Below Snarky is making a Snow Angel in the snow!  It is looking down through the tree's onto Mr. Snarky!
And these next two photo's are of a real cat - Romeo-Valentino!  He LOVES sitting on my desk, on top of things, glitter, glue, cards, scissors, anything, he doesn't mind!  It just happens to be the spot where I work!
And here he is from another angle.  Not a lot of room left for me to work on, but that's ok!  No damage done to any art work I was doing, and no glitter stuck to his bum!

Snarky Cats Cards

I made the Snarky Cats card above by layering the gifts.  Each 'gift' is made with a sturdy piece of card and then covered in Christmas paper. The most challenging part was tying the presents and doing the bows!  My hands struggled, but I got them all done in the end!  Such a fun card to do, and I am working on another one today!  There are many elements to this card, you can see it better in real life!
These circles will be made into cards eventually.  I used stencils and embossing paste for the backgrounds.  I stamped and hand cut the cats, and attached them to the circles once the embossing paste was dry.  I added different embellishments to each circle. These were also lot's of fun to make!
