March 1st- "Flying Pig Day."

March 1st is "Flying Pig Day".  The above card is the card I made and sent to Lorraine M.  Inside the card I stamped a flying pig. I also sent her a pair of Flying Pig Earrings!  (I forgot to photograph them!) To see what "Flying Pig Day" is all about, check Lorraines blog, and search for
"Flying Pig Day".
The card above is the one Lorraine sent me, below is the other side of the card.  So cute and colourful:-)
Below is a surprise card I got from Lorraines 2nd cousin, Barb.  It was a lovey surprise to get this card, as I had no idea it was coming!  Such a kind and thoughtful thing to do.  Barb is from Somerset New Jersey, USA,
Below is another gorjuss surprise card, this time from Joan, a good friend of Lorraine's.  Joan enclosed a lovely letter telling me about her and Lorraine's friendship., and how they have been friends for over 50 years! (Joan is also from Somerset New Jersey USA.)  I too have a friend whom I have known for about the same length of time.  We met when we ten I think and have remained very close friends. We were (and still are!) mad keen roller skaters!  Although I am more into ice skating these days.
But wait, there's MORE!!  Yesterday I received this beautiful card, (below) from another of Lorraine's "Pig Ladies, " called Sabrina!  Sabrina hails from Dublin Ireland.  What an awesome surprise I got when I received all of these awesome cards - thank you!  When you receive mail from someone you don't know, and you have no idea the mail is coming, it can really make your day.  The cards and letters certainly made my day, and my week.  It touched my heart to think that these lovely people thought of me and took the time to make and send the cards.
Below is a shell I found on the beach yesterday.  I had driven North with my cousin and we stopped at Orewa beach for a swim, and to let her dog have a run.  It was a lovely hot sunny day, but there was a bit of a cold wind, which was a shame.

This photo, below, is of a kite surfer who was at the beach.
Below is someones dog running along the beach.  He had been chasing Seagulls!
This photo below is of a bunch of "Bunny Tails" that I picked at the beach.  These remind me so much of my dad, he used to wait patiently for me to pick a handful of them before we left the beach.  We had a beach house at Mangawhai Heads for many years.  We had the beaches a couple of minutes walk away, and I spent most of time at the beach and in the water swimming.  Good fun and good times:-)
That's all for today, I don't have the inspiration or motivation to make cards right now.  But I am sure it will come back soon!
Thanks for dropping by, have a SUNSHINE day!  {HUGS} from me to YOU:-)
