Happy New Year Card!

This is a card I made a couple of weeks ago. It has been sooooo hot and humid here, that I just don't have the energy to even lift a stamp off my desk, never mind actually stamp with it!!  The humidity has hit with a vengeance and it just knocks me off my feet.  I am spending a lot of time in front of the fan...so are my cats!
I cut the 216 using my Cricut machine, and for the heart I used a Stampin' Up! punch.  It was quick and easy and the recipient loved it!  The words are a SU stamp as well.
Gotta go, I'm melting all over my computer...

OMG! Another Christmas Card?!

Oh wow!  I'm off to a good start for my Christmas cards for next Christmas! This is another one based on the Jingle Belle Challenge: "Something Old Something New" theme for Christmas cards.
I have used my NEW star dies (yes, gain!), and my NEW border die, for the "New".
This (above) is the inside of the card.  For the "Old" I have used the stamp of the rubber stamp, (had it for years!) and the word stamp on the small cream coloured card.
Also for the "Old" is the snowflake die on the front and inside.  I have had that for many years and have used it on millions of cards! The other "Old" is the punch I used for the mitten.  That is a Stampin' Up! punch I have had for a few years.
This was a fun card to make and obviously it will need toe sent to a rubber stamping buddy!  Today is a good day to make cards as it is pouring down with rain outside:-(  I can't do anything out in the garden today (well, I could teach my tomato plants how to swim!) so I thought, "Why not stamp, Sunshine?!"  And I did!

First Card For 2016!

I follow Lorraine's blog and she is playing along with the Jingle Belles Challenge.  I thought I would give it a go!  The first card idea is "Something Old, Something New".  I have used my NEW star dies, and for the OLD I have used my "Merry Christmas" stamp I have had since time began!  It was a challenge because my brain is in "holiday" mode and did not want to take the hand brake off! Eventually inspiration flowed (well ok so it only 'trickled'!) and the card was made!  So here you are Lorraine M, my first card using my new STAR dies!  Thanks for the inspiration!

Fake It!

Here's how to make your own fake snow for your cards and crafts!
First of all you need 1 teaspoon of shaving cream.  I mix mine in an old bottle top with a wooden chopstick!
Then you add 1 teaspoon of white glue (I used PVA).  You need equal measures of both shaving cream and white glue.
Mix well until you get a thick mixture.  Only takes a few seconds!
Apply the mixture to your card and set aside to dry.  Depending on the temperature it may take several hours.  I left mine overnight just to make sure it was dry.  I also added some glitter to it after applying it to the card.
I also added some "snow" to the branches of the tree's.
And if you want coloured snow, just add a drop or two of either food colouring, or  a re-inker or any kind of ink you may have. Experiment!  Green looks good for grass and hills!  It's "Snow" much fun making snow!
Thanks for dropping in on this first day of 2016!  Happy New Year!
Be safe and have fun!  {Hugs} from me to YOU:-)
