Many thanks to the very kind lady who came to my door today after she spotted smoke coming from my chimney. She was driving passed my house and stopped to check that the house wasn't on fire. It is summer here so people don't have their fires going so seeing smoke coming from a chimney is unusual.
I had burnt a handful of personal medical papers I no longer needed.
The lady drove a white car, rego number EYG 7.
If you know this wonderful lady please thank her on my behalf. I have no idea who she is but I am very grateful for her concern. She has restored my faith in human kind. You can email me if you like. brollysdolly@gmail.com
Thank you, kind lady - I hope you & your family have a wonderful New Year!:-)
Welcome to my blog! My name is Sunshine! I live with a rare & invisible medical condition that often puts me in hospital without warning. I am also partially sighted with very limited vision. When I am well I like to make cards! I also love photography. I have 2 gorjuss Purr-ritos called "Bella-Rosa", & "Romeo-Valentino". They often end up in my photo's! My simply awesome Soulmate (who remains nameless) said I should create a blog...and here it is! Enjoy!

"Bella-Rosa" and "Rudolph"!
"Bella-Rosa" checks out a Monarch butterfly! With strict instructions that she was NOT to eat it....
"Oh Mom" she said " I will be kind to this butterfly & I will NOT eat it!". She then rolled over & went back to sleep!
And here is a "Rudolph" I made from some card scraps. His arms & legs were made from some scraps of paper which I run through my crimper. He has a little green bell around his neck and a small white pom pom for his belly button! He is about 8 inches in height. He has a bit of white polyester fluff for his mane!
Ok, on the post below I forgot to mention the Christmas card! I used some 'Coredinations" card which I embossed. One side is black the other side is a pale green. When you emboss it the green side comes through. I also lightly sanded it to enhance the green a bit. Just thought I should mention that!
Ok that's it for tonight, it's getting late & I need my sleep!

I've Been Busy!
Ok so here are all my latest creations! From the top there is my first card I made using he SU Elegant Bird die. I just love this card, it came out so nice. The recipient of the card loved it too!
Next are some holders I made to put some candy canes in. Easy & quick & used up small bits of card I had.
The next three photos are of some lollipops I decorated & put into a small basket. I bought a bunch of the baskets at the local Op Shop. These too were quick fun & easy to make...when I wasn't EATING them!!
Next photo shows one of the paper bows I made using the SU oval punches. Really easy & quick, and fun of course to make! I ended up making several of them for later use.
The birds on fishing line are hanging down the side of my pantry. If there is a slight breeze coming in the door they move from side to side!
The small jar has ginger bread men/ladies (take your pick!) inside attached to a piece of string with a small peg at either end. Either use them to hold cards or decorate your Xmas tree, or keep them as they are! Mine are sitting in the jar, up on a shelf. The ginger bread person was stamped & cut out using a SU stamp & matching die. So cute & SO much fun!
The next photo is of a wire basket which I picked up at an Op Shop for only ten cents! Woohoo I got a bargain that day! It's quite a big basket & seeing as I had some 'left over' Xmas baubles I put them in the basket.
The Xmas stocking belings to "Bella-Rosa" and "Romeo-Valentino", my two gorjuss cats! The mice on top were two I bought at a craft market. They just fit nicely in the top of the stocking! It's hanging on my pantry door.
The cabinet is the one I bought awhile ago also from the local Op Shop. I re-painted it (finally!) and then hung it on the wall. It has some of my crystals in it & a tiny shoe I decorated. (Second shelf down)
The tiny box decorated with the owl (SU) is the box that Lorraine sent me a beautiful winged pig in! I saved the box knowing ONE day it would get decorated! So thank you Lorraine, & please visit her blog at
papervernissage.blogspot.com You will not be disappointed! The little pig is on the top shelf.
Ok, onto the photo's of ME dressed as a Christmas Angel!! Why am I dressed as a Christmas Angel?? Well I went to a bbq yesterday & the theme was red & white. So I decided to go as a Christmas Angel!
The wedding dress I have on is one I bought from the local theater for $1. (I have four $1 dresses from them!) So I took the hem and train up and stuck red flowers & stars on the dress. The red cape I already had in my 'dress up' wardrobe - not sure why I bought it and this was the first time I had worn it. I punched out some white snowflakes & attached them with white brads. (Easy to remove) I sewed on the tinsel around the bottom & added some glittery stars to the back of the cape. Oh yes, it also had bells on the bottom of the cape. The wings I bought from the $2 Shop & I sprinkled glitter on them then sprayed them with hairspray to make the glitter stick to the wings. I also bought the halo & the cross from the $2 Shop. I had red & white beads/bracelts around my wrist & had silver ballet slippers on with red pom poms I glued on! I also made the wand I am holding.
The last photo is if the box of chocolate biscuits I WON for having the best costume!! I was the "Supreme Winner" for the second year in a row! The bbq was a lost of fun in spite of the heat & humidity. I made sure I stayed in the shade all day.
So there's what I have been up to lately!!

My Christmas Decorations!
These are the beginnings of my Christmas decorations this year. I have used a broken umbrella hung upside down and added various Christmas decorations to it. The other decorations are miniature parasols from the $2 Shop, also hung upside down with Christmas baubles & some gold beads on them. The upside down umbrella has lights on it & looks awesome at night! These were hard to photograph but I gave it a go! They look MUCH better IRL! I have another photo to post but will do that next time.

I Made Some Cards!
...and three bookmarks! I had an "Owl" of a time making these over the weekend, so much fun! And yes, I LOVE that Owl punch from SU! He/she is so verstile and I have used him/her for all kinds of cards!
Most of the card I used is also from SU as is the branch, which is from the bird punch.
If you look closely you can see that each owl has a diamond necklace, so I guess that makes them female owls?!
My favourite card is the black & white one, that is for my friend Yo who just loves black & white cards! I am sure she will enjoy this one for Christmas:-)
Thanks so much for visiting, due to chronic health challenges I have not posted much for sometime. Today I am trying to catch up!

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall
I met Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall a few weeks ago when she & Prince Charles were in New Zealand. I went into Auckland City to meet her.
It was a terrible day weather-wise, it poured down three times while waiting to see her! I had a raincoat with a hood but still managed to get wet! It was very hard to get a decent photo of Camilla as she had an umbrella over her which had this big black band around the bottom. It covered her face which made it hard to get decent photo's. This was one of the best shots I got - not bad considering the weather & all the media surrounding her! Before she arrived I was interviewed for one of the television channels!
I didn't get to see Charles as he was on the other side of the road. I have photographed him before so I wasn't too disappointed. I just shook hands with Camilla & said 'welcome to New Zealand'! What else do you say when you have about 3 seconds?! She was lovely & she has really soft hands!
Everyone had a good time in spite of the wet weather & the crowd was well behaved.

A Day At The Domain
I took these at the Auckland Domain about a month ago. The first photo is of a fat friendly goldfish in one of the ponds. He was looking right at me!
The second photo is of some of the many beautiful lily flowers in the ponds. I just love these!
The next photo is of some of the lily pads. The gold colour gave the photo an interesting twist - it was from a gold coloured light above the pond! I just happened to be in the right place to see it.
The hands were some of the performers who were drumming (and playing these unique instruments which sounded similar to castanets) outside the Museum.
The noise was deafening but awesome! We loved it & watched & listened for ages.
The performers but all their energy & strength into their drumming. Some of them were from Japan, others were from New Zealand.

. Helen
This is my friend Helen. I took this photo of her in the Domain the day we gatecrashed the wedding - see post below for details of that adventure!
I used Photoshop to surround her with the purple & white flowers! She hasn't actually seen this photo yet!

I Gatecrashed A Wedding!
My friend Helen & I went to the Domain about a month ago to photograph the beautiful gardens there. It's a truly amazing place with acres & acres of green grass to play on as well as many tall tree's. We had just had lunch after arriving by train when we came across a bridal party! Of course, we wanted photo's of the gorgeous bride and her bridesmaids/flower girls.
We were quietly snapping away trying not to get in the way when the groom came up to me & told me to get right up in front & take as many photo's as I liked! So I did! They were all very bubbly & friendly and there was a lot of giggling going on by the flower girls! We had a blast & I am sure the bridal party did too!
It was a gorgeous sunny day & the setting for the photo's was so pretty.
Thanks to the bridal party for letting us share your day! You all looked gorgeous!

One Tree Hill, Auckland City
This is the view from the top of One Tree Hill. This is about 25 minutes drive from where I live. The top photo is taken looking towards Auckland City. You can see the Sky Tower in the top left hand corner.
The second photo is looking towards the Waitakere Ranges - way off in the distance. It was a beautiful sunny day but oh-so-windy!! I had to brace myself against the rock wall as the wind was pushing me all over the place! A great day:-)

"No Modesty", by "Romeo-Valentino"
No modesty, no shame, no embarrassment no way! Well, not form him anyway, me, yes!
If you look closely (and be warned, this might put you off your dinner..) you will see "Ro-Ro" has a shaved bottom, he's had a "Brazillian"!!
Don't panic never panic, he IS perfectly ok! A couple of weeks ago he was not well so I took him to the vet. Turned out he had a somewhat blocked bladder & needed an operation, so that is why he has a "Brazillian"! But now he is back to his old self again, rolling on the floor like this & showing off in front of "Bella"! Not sure if she is impressed or not!

"Romeo-Valentino" and New Cards
Why was "Romeo-Valentino" on the window ledge in the bathroom? A good question! He could hear baby birds (Sparrows) on the roof & this was the closest he could get to them! From here he jumped up onto the top of the shower which is even closer to the birds and the ceiling!
The cards are self explainitary..I hope?! (Not sure if I spelt that correctly?!)
