Cards, Cats, Baby Ducks, Something from the Garden and Daylight Saving!

This card with the Western saddle on it took me back (way back!) to the days when I had my own horses and used to ride Western!  Oh!  The fun I had then!!  Galloping along the beach, swimming with my horses in the ocean, jumping over fallen logs in the forest, coming home way after sunset feeling worn out but happy...those were some awesomely fun times:-) I used the Hardwood SU stamp for the background, using a brown stamp pad.  I stamped the saddle with black ink, onto a piece of scrap card and then cute around it.  Once I had coloured it I adhered it to the card I had stamped using the Hardwood stamp, using double sided sponge tape.   It's quite a big stamp and takes up most of the front of the card.  I layered it onto a piece of pale lavender card and then onto some pale pink card.
Below is a closeup of the saddle.  I used some gold brads on the saddle blanket, the saddle flap and the stirrup.  I made a lasso with some twine and used a glue dot behind the saddle to stick it down with.
Here is another card  made using the same SU Hardwood stamp.  That stamp is so versatile, I love it!  (Show me an SU stamp I don't like!!
I made up some Aster flowers using some dies I have. (heartfelt Creations) I also made the leaves with the same set of dies.  I stuck the rope circle to the card using Glossy Accents glue, as I find this adheres those, 'sometime tricky bits', to the card really well.  And it dries clear, another bonus!
I stuck the top layer of the card to a dark brown card and the onto a white card.  The Hardwood stamp is stamped on white card with a Barn Red stamp pad.  I also used some very fine gold thread and stuck it under the flowers to hold it down.  Hard to see on here, I know!  I had lots of fun making both these cards!  "Fun" is good!
And here is Miss "Bella-Rosa" looking gorjuss!  She was sunbathing later one afternoon and  I just had to take her photo!  A nano second after I took this, she began a long 20 minute wash!   A girl's gotta keep herself clean!

This flower below is not real.  It's one of those you put in your garden and when the wind blows, it spins around.  I just loved the closeup of the center of it!  It almost mesmerized me!
The photo below is something I made using some tree branches I had cut down.  (There are NO tree's left now - I had a new saw and went a bit crazy and chopped everything down!)
Oops!  I can;t get this photo back in the center:-(  No idea what happened, but whatever I try, it will not go back to the center:-(
First of all I made the "ladder" and used my hot glue gun to hold it all together.  Then I tied some twine around each rung of the ladder to make it look kind of "rustic".  I added some crystals and some broken bits of jewellery.  And Lorraine!  Can you see one of your little pink Pigs With Wings at the top?!  She is just the right size to hang on there!  There are also some very tiny mice, one with a mousetrap and a piece of cheese!  (not real cheese!)  The yellow Daffodils are from past Daffodil Day's where you donate a gold coin to help find a cure for cancer.  I have donated every year for many years.  I had heaps of fun making this, and have since cut a pile of branches so I can make some more.

It muse be Spring...I have baby ducklings on my back lawn!  Lot's of them!  Here they are having a swim i n the birds water dish!
Once Mrs. Duck saw that I wasn't going to harm any of her babies, she allowed me to get fairly close to get some photos.  So cute!
Okay that's all for today, have a SUNSHINE day!
{HUGS} from me to YOU:-)
Oh yeah!  We started Daylight Saving today...yipppeeee!!

  1. I LOVE that saddle with the twine and brads. Great texture! The ducklings are adorable. We get a fair amount of wildlife in our yard, but no ducklings yet. I'll just have to admire your photos. 🙂

  2. Cute lil duckies, hope the kittys don't see them! I never knew you were a horse rider. Horses have always scared me, too big! xx

  3. Awesome cards! Love that saddle stamp. And your wreath is fantastic with that gold thread. Everyone should have a tiny flying pig don't you think! I like what you did with yours. Happy Spring!
